I just thought I would drop by and provide info if anyone was interested in freshpair's new advertised at home bra fitting consultation.
I wouldn't recommend it.
I went in to the fitting knowing my general size, my brand preference, style preferences, ect. I wanted help finding bras that would fit similarly to the one I had that I liked. I was originally just going to call bare necessities, but I got hung up on there and couldn't get back through.
I told the bra fitter over the phone about my woes trying to find a bra (keeping it short and sweet-- the brands that fit differently, having side breast tissue and bottom heavy breasts). She asked about my band size and the size of my current bra and if I was full through the top of the cups. I wasn't able to get my band size, so I went a size up.
Apparently converting between band sizes and UK-US sizes is too much for their staff. I received lots of bras a cup size smaller than my actual size, and lots that were a cup bigger than my actual size--- with exactly one in my cup size. Most of the bras sent were either "A" american brands that don't come in my cup size (each one was too small), or "B" Fantasie bras, which I struggle with because of the narrow underwires. I got a total of 2 of my preferred brand, including the exact bra I had told them was my "current go to" in a SIZE SMALLER than I wear.
When I called to follow up, I was told that it is difficult to account for going up a band size and the UK/US sizing difference. I calmly explained that I am aware of how the conversions worked, and explained that had they done the "math" correctly they would have sent me UK 30 FF and 30 G bras to try, since I was currently wearing UK28G and GG bras but freshpair doesn't carry a 28 band. Instead I got UK30F's and UK30Gs. Freshpair doesn't carry those sizes at all in american bras, so it is a non-issue. My fitter absolutely insisted I was wrong. Then when I said I was sending the bras back, she offered to send me all 14+ of the styles offered in my size and my favorite brands. I declined, especially since they had already charged my card (could be my slightly odd card) a day early and had been holding 1000 lien on me-- which would be fine if slightly odd card didn't make that a pain in the butt. I also have to print my own shipping label--- which is a major pain in the butt to send back a shipment that only had ONE item like I requested.
