I recently returned via mail a number of items to J. Crew, including a pricey skirt. When the return was processed, I noticed a discrepancy online between what was refunded and what I was owed. When I contacted J. Crew and asked why the cost of the skirt had not been refunded, they claimed that "it had been worn," and that it wasn't a simple issue of the tag being off (though I never removed it). I'm extremely frustrated by this explanation, as I wore the skirt for 15 seconds, and returned it to the plastic bag and paper envelope. Has anybody encountered this scenario before? I've never had this happen to me in any return. Word of caution for J.Crew shoppers!
