Retailer questions: Hobbs website; Cue sizing

Happy New Year All!

Two quick questions:

1) Anyone else having trouble with the Hobbs website? It keeps crashing on me, then refuses to accept my order once I press final submit.

2) Also, can anyone vouch for Cue sizing? If I wear a 2/4 in US tops and jackets, any clue how that translates (I see measurements, but guide says 3% margin for error)?

Hi column. Cue Australia? A 2/4 would be an Australian size 6/8. I would opt for the Aussie 8 as Cue can run a little small in my opinion, especially in knitwear. I have some of their skirts and knitwear. Hopefully Bijou will chime in, as she has dresses, jackets and coats too! Cue is a fantastic brand.

Hi Column - I wear lots of Cue clothing - I buy Size 4 in JCrew and Kate Spade clothing and wear a size 8 or size small in Cue. Most of my dresses are Cue. So like Brooklyn, I agree that you need size 6/8.

I have never bought anything online from Hobbs because there is a store very close to my house and I like to try shoes on before purchasing. I do like their sandals and boots and have a few in my collection. They are not the best quality, but definitely good value.

Thanks, ladies! I did finally get Hobbs to work on my mobile. Two desktops and a laptop failed. Go figure! Would love to hear from Bijou. I am so envious of the Aussie brands. They showcase the waist and offer tunics with asymmetrical hems—designs that flatter curvy bottoms. I find them generally ahead of the U.S. fashion curve, IMHO. I appreciate the endorsement, Brooklyn!

Column, if you like Cue, you might also want to check out Veronika Maine, that’s the sister label to Cue. The style is a bit more avante garde and a little less structured than Cue but there are similarities.

Ooooh, thanks for the suggestion, Brooklyn! The two lines (Cue and VM) are brilliant! I have been craving “different,” and these two fit the bill! Feel free to offer additional suggestions not common to the U.S. anytime!

Column, if you want another Australian label, check out Carla Zampatti. I think she inspires the Cue designers. Her tailoring is immaculate and she does ship garments internationally although shipment is expensive. Sizing is big in this brand, I am a size 6 in Carla Zampatti as compared to a size 8 in Cue.

Cue is a lovely Aus brand and a lot of their line is made in Aus which I love. I have bought from Cue time and time again over the years. Agreeing with Bijou and Brooklyn a US 2-4 = Aus 6-8. I think it depends on the item. If you need help with exact measurements I could ring or visit my local store for you.
