I have a green ruffly tank I bought about a year ago for under $20. I've nipped and tucked it a couple times - first I brought in the extra armpit in the back, then shortened the straps, recently removed the embellishment. That last trick left a hole in the front of the neckline. I'm debating getting a multi chain necklace and sewing it along the neckline for camouflage. It would cost, like $3. Worth a shot? Are these even good embellishment choices for my style? Or should I just let go?

I think that tank top has had it's day in the sun. If you keep having to mess with it, it's probably not worth it anymore. I do like the one you linked to but agree with Anna about the color.

I vote to let it go. Love the DVF in the earlier link.
This has inspired me to dispose of a too-ruffly sleeveless silk top in my closet. It was "on probation" already.

It's funny how much I can attach to a bargain basement tank top that never fit perfectly to start with lol. Thanks for the encouragement to release it and move forward

Let it die. But before you bury it, cut a piece of fabric and save it, and when you go shopping, look for this colour, because it is lovely on you.

Too funny. I was trying to come up with ideas to help you save it. Seems I often have to ruin something with a midnight alteration (your term) before I can let it go. I was worried that the necklace would bang around in the washing machine and tear an even bigger hole.

I just took three wildly patterned items and attempted to dye them solid navy. You're supposed to agitate the washing machine for a full 30 minutes before letting the dye rinse out. I set the timer so I could reset the wash cycle several times but I was outside helping hubs ruin--err fix the pool pump and all the dye washed out after about ten minutes, leaving my items a murky purple shade mixed with their previous printed glory. It was awful, truly. But then it was much easier to let them go!

Yeah, you have other tanks that give off the same vibe or better - the blush and the lavender ones spring to mind. I wouldn't replace it unless you are seriously running out of tanks... which may very well be possible with the heat and humidity, for all I know.

I do the same thing with triage, though. I bought DH a pair of 50 cent shorts... there was a spot I couldn't get out, so I tried bleach. But then the bleach bled way more then I thought. So then I bleached the whole thing, and now I have to dye the whole thing!
