A couple of years ago, I asked the forum members for their advice on where to go for beach vacations in Florida. I got many suggestions and we went with one - St.Petersburg (Treasure Island). We had wonderful time and this year our kids took our grandson there to his first beach vacations!
I hope to get some advice again.
My DH and I planned to go to Europe but we somehow do not exactly feel up to it with a long flight and time change. So, we are thinking about staying for a week in a resort some place Caribbean. The choices overwhelm us a bit. We are not resort people, generally speaking but we want to try.
We want to travel at end of September or first week in October. We both are swimmers, so nice beach and pools are #1 priority. We probably would be better off in a bigger resort with choices for food since we are vegetarians but I’m not sure. We would love a nice place to get a great, relaxing experience. We like walking and exploring, we are not too much in organized activities or entertainment. I envision a boutique resort, something memorable. But I have no idea where.
There are places we know we do not want to visit at this time - Jamaica (been there, stayed at a private condo) and Cuba (for many reasons). Also, not Hawaii, too far.
Any suggestions? Can you share your experiences with Caribbean resorts? Is it a good idea at all?
I’d appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
