Requesting opinions on a jacket

This is a Martin & Osa military style jacket in purple velvet/velour. It is my size, and GREAT price. I love it, but am not sure exactly how I'd wear it. Suggestions and opinions requested.

If the color is what I think, you might almost be able to wear it as a neutral - it looks like a similar color to my Frye oxfords. Now if you're asking for outfit help, I'm not your gal!

I'm ultra sensitive to chest pockets these days but if you are okay with them, I'd say go for it. Looks like a nice classic jacket that would work with bootcuts or skinnies.

Chest pockets don't bother me in the least, they may even give the illusion that I have an actual "chest."

I haven't seen it in person, but I'm thinking it's more of an eggplant than bluish/purple. I believe the pic of the back is truer to the real color than the front.

Yes, "eggplant" is the color I am thinking of - you will find it a very versatile piece.

I just purchased a green velvet jacket. I lead a *very* casual lifestyle, (work at home with little kids) so I don't need any "fancy" clothes. I dress it down with my jeans and a black turtleneck, along with some nice jewelry. It also goes well with my little black jersey dress, and other things but I mostly want to wear it with my jeans on the weekend and when I'm going out with the girls.

I like this for jeans and a simple top, v neck sweater or LS t-shirt. You can add long necklaces or scarves for more detail to the outfit. I can also see this with a flower print top as well. I think the length would dictate if this piece can work wtih skirts/dresses.

I have a Talbots jacket from last year that is ringer for this one, and I love it. I wear it with jeans, skirts, pants, whatever. Such a rich color! Enjoy and post pics.
