Ok, it's not as arduous as it sounds, because I may have found one sollution. My two urgent footwear needs are a pair of black booties and a pair of interesting loafers, ideally with maximum versatility. I *may* have found the loafers -- I found a pair at Nine West the other day and loved everything about them, I just need a half-size up that I can only get online. What do you think of these in pewter reptile? If other colours look better, do speak up.

The other issue may be harder. The other day I found a pair of booties that are almost perfect in every way. They fit my foot, look good with skirts and dresses, have some cool styling details and are made of lovely fabric...problem is the heel is far too high, resulting in discomfort for my feet. They're at least an inch too high, so heel shortening wouldn't work in this case. I'm posting pictures of them here...has anyone seen anything remotely similar that comes in either wide widths or size 11?
