2 weeks ago I was running through Dulles airport and managed to leave my raincoat at TSA. It was a 2 year old Pendleton, so I sincerely hope it went to someone in need.
I initially thought about just replacing the same coat. It's still available on the Pendleton site, and I really liked it. But then I started thinking a little more... I had grabbed the coat as a just-in-case for a trip to DC, and had been complaining that it wasn't formal enough to wear with a suit, especially on the east coast. AND, I had retired 3 other jackets last fall so was really missing a formal coat that could work in rain and colder weather.
Enter the Nordstrom spring sale, and loooooook what I found! Long, lined, classic, ON SALE!
I ordered a size up so I can ensure wearing a suit jacket will work. It's longer than I typically wear, but I think it will be a better option when wearing dresses. And from previous experience, I know it will travel well (my Gallery puffer has been stuffed under many airplane seats).
So glad I took the time to really think about this wardrobe hole, all set for next time I"m off to a rainy locale!
