Replacement Jacket

Hi Ladies,

Some of you may know that my black and white abstract jacket had a fault and was returned:(. Well I have been looking for a replacement and am wondering what you think of this one.

#1 is my dear departed blazer.

#2 is its possible replacement

Similar but different? For the Aussie girls this is from Katies. I have two winter jackets from Katies and I have been very pleased with them and the quality. One in particular gets mistaken for a designer piece frequently.. go figure:)

Hmm, it's hard to tell in the picture, but it has possibilities. It looks a bit shorter than your other one- will that work as well for you?

I think the only way to find out is to try it. It's always so difficult when you have something specific in mind to find, isn't it?

Loved the length (and everything else) about your previous blazer - this one does seem a tad shorter and may not be as flattering on.

I think the graphic print of the new jacket is fantastic and it could be a workhorse in your wardrobe. However, I have to agree with the other ladies, that this one appears a bit shorter and maybe a tad boxier, so you would need to consider if those things will bother you. If not, then I say make the purchase!

I hate having to replace beloved items. Sad face for your jacket

I was going to say that I like the new one, but, if one of your main attractions to the other one was the graphic print, I don't find the second one as graphic - almost like the print is smaller and more busy. I won't say much about the fit because I find the way the new one is styled and photographed (like who goes around holding their jacket like that?) could be misleading as to how it could fit you. So I'm with Parsley on having to try it on. Hope that helps!

I love the print on this one. It might be shorter but could also be that the model is quite tall. Do they have the measurements avl to you? I think it is worth a try if you are able to return it. I do think it could be a great replacement.

Definitely try it, Deb. It's hard to tell on a model, given the relative heights. So sad about the other one; it was a beauty. But this might just work.

Oh no - I didn't know your beautiful jacket had to be returned! So sad.

I think the new version is worth trying on - like others, it does seem to be shorter and boxier but it's very difficult to tell on the model.

I think it's worth trying, but be really picky about the cut. What a shame about the original jacket!

So sorry to hear that your jacket had to be returned but the one you found looks like it could be a good replacement. Sometimes shorter jackets are easier to style with both pants and dresses.

Thanks ladies. I went and tried the jacket on today and it is nice BUT the shoulders have small shoulder pads and the jacket kind of "hunches" at the shoulders, creating a fold where the pads are:(. So it's a no go. Will keep looking.
