Replacement for Bite Agave

Early in the pandemic I was cursed by dry, cracked, and occasionally infected lips. Among the recommendations was Bite Agave--I don't remember who suggested it, but I thank them.

Just went online to buy some more and find it mostly unavailable. Apparently the line was so successful and had so many imitators that the original manufacturers have gone out of business.

Just in time for summer heat and dry cracked lips. Anyone have any suggestions of a similar brand? The nighttime mask version has been wonderful. I've tried a couple of others without success. I wake up in the middle of the night with parched, dry lips.

I’ve never heard of this brand, but I empathize with your situation. It’s a challenge when a beloved item that fit a need suddenly is no longer available.

I have lip issues too and Kyle had suggested O'Keefe's Lip Repair stick. It's fragrance free and the tube is oval and orange. Might be worth a try!

I liked the original BIte one you are talking about, but there was more involved in their loss of business than that! They decided to go vegan and the new formula was not as good as the original. There were many complaints on the issue and that is what made people move on to other brands. I used to love their lipsticks too, but same thing. Brands can stand up to competition if they maintain their own quality and appeal...Bite made a poor decision that tanked their bottom line.

Anyway, I like this one from Fresh:

I'd prefer something in a stick or tube, and Fresh has sticks that are good, but this one is a step up from those. I think of them for quick during the day, but this little tub is more repairing I think. But...as April said, if you need to avoid fragrance, Fresh is probably not the way to go!

Thanks April and Peri for the additional information. I do prefer to avoid fragrance (many allergies). I'm going to check on both of these suggestions. I didn't know about Bite--I'm just about to use up the last of a small mask jar bought a long, long time ago. Not sure if it's vegan.

I remember the whole Bite debacle.
I like the Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask. Sephora sells it, though some of the flavors are a bit iffy (too candy like for me)

Maybe you’ve already tried this but I find good old Vaseline to be a cheap and effective lip balm. In the past I’ve also repurposed lanolin nipple cream and I see there’s a product called ‘lanolips’ (assuming no allergy).

Jules Vaseline hasn't worked as well for me for night. My dermatologist recommends Aquaphor, but I find it doesn't work well on my lips. It is useful for lots of other things, as is Vaseline.

My dentist makes a great daytime lip balm with sunscreen, and she gives it away! It comes with different fragrances too. It doesn't last through the night though.

Try co bigelow my favorite night balm—this helped with my chapped lips during chemo. Also great for cuticles and winter chapped cheeks.

It has shea butter—some people are allergic

I use The Kissu Lip Mask by Tatcha as an overnight treatment for my extremely dry lips. Sold by Sephora. I’ve been using it every night for the last few years. My lips so much softer in the morning. Also, it comes with a cute, tiny spatula
