I can't remember the last time that I wore the Nine West dress, which always reminds me of a red and magenta Monarch butterfly. I still adore the dress, but as hemlines have become lower throughout the last year or so and eye has adjusted to midi length skirts, this dress now feels quite short - too much above-the-knee area exposed for me to feel comfortable wearing it without a lower layer.

However, I've always loved pairing the dress with leggings, and these Commando ankle-length lightweight leggings just arrived last week to replace the two cropped pairs that finally died. While I probably wouldn't wear this combination to work right now - at least, not to the job I have now - it felt right to pair the dress and leggings with my black ECCO pumps for a laid-back day with friends.

Fan print dress, I'm sorry that you temporarily ended up a closet orphan. I'll try to remember to bring you out to play more often!
