Oh yeah, the rainbow-soled flip flips! I had those... and the Candies shoes... and the platform sandals (which would be in style today if I still had them; things come back around, don't they?), and feathered hair--though I ended up getting a wedge cut, followed by a perm. I hated that perm and couldn't wait for it to grow out. Back to feathered bangs after the perm grew out, lol. Did anyone else have a sterling silver spoon ring? Those were all the rage in FL.
I also remember sucking on cinnamon-coated toothpicks.
My mom made me a three-tired skirt and matching peasant blouse, which I wore with knee-high boots. Nice boho look goin' on with that outfit.
In 1979, she also made me a pair of black skinny pants like the ones worn by Olivia Newton John in the movie "Grease" and a matching fitted v-neck peplum vest. Boy did I look good in that outfit! I wore it with a fitted collared button-up shirt underneath the vest and a pair of sexy black sandals, of course!
