I hear a lot of that on the forum and on FB at the moment - and yes - it snowed in Seattle so we're currently in a Winter Wonderland too. Re-read the post and get cracking with beating those Winter wardrobe blues. Chins up.

It's snowing here, again. So I took your advice, and instead of my usual winter Sunday uniform of blue jeans & a sweater, I slipped on my optic white skinnies with a flannel. A small change, but it felt new and fresh.

Knitwear, knitwear, knitwear. Lighten up the colours. Ink blue. Brights and pastels. New lippie or nail polish. Have a pedicure.

My new apple green specs couldn't have come at a better time. They liven up everything I wear - right in the middle of Winter.

Suz, I'm curious. And sorry to hear that your orange pants aren't doing it for you.

Hmmm...maybe that's why my new nail polish is making me so happy! It's adding a bit of color. It's a very dark red, but still...color is color! Angie, adding a new polish or lip color is such a great idea, because it's something you can wear every day but won't break the bank.

I would love a new winter coat in a bright color. I'll have to keep my eye out...maybe I can catch one on sale. My current one is all black and only a year old...and unbelievably warm. It's been so cold here that I am sure I would have been reaching for it every day even if I had owned other coats.

I do find that I am reaching for my tomato-red beret instead of the navy one much more the last month or so...guess I'm craving the color!

I probably have 3 feet of snow in my backyard, accumulated this winter.

I did not buy any pastels but am packing for a Florida trip next week and am very happy to look at corals, greens and whites in my suitcase

Deborah -- We hope to send it to you as soon as possible. Thanks for the reminder, Angie. Yes -- I find that adding more color (and lightness) to my outfits really helps to beat the blues. But I wish I could ditch the slush boots. They are cramping my style. I long for "shoe weather". Perhaps I need some bright colored docs?

I actually ordered two on-sale wool coats -- one in teal and one in burgundy -- from Nordstrom a few days ago, and am hoping one will work on me. I've always felt like it would be frivolous for me to buy an extra wool coat just so I can have one in a fun color in addition to a sensible neutral, but I realized I'd be wearing it more than the few random sweaters I might end up buying instead for around the same total cost, and it would feel like more bang for the buck, so why not?

I don't think white or pastels are really my thing, but I may have to see what I have for ink blue too during the next few weeks.

Actually, I've thought several times recently how much I'm enjoying my winter wardrobe. I'm not yet sick of it--ask me six weeks from now, when it's STILL cold here! But I've been feeling good about the outfits I'm putting together, while keeping warm. As many of you know, YLF and figuring out how to improve my style is still pretty new for me, so that also has a lot to do with my current positive attitude about winter dressing.

Okay, that being said, I will be glad when I don't have to pile on as many layers to keep warm!

This is so well-timed, Angie- we're well on our way to the worst winter we've ever had where I live, and I am BEYOND tired of it already!
I, like Suz, did just place an order for a winter pastel wardrobe addition :-)(crossing my fingers that it works!).
My favorite addition so far has been my bright violet-blue coat. It cheers me up every time I put it on, and livens up all my black and gray outfits.

What I really can't wait for is the opportunity to wear something besides boots, but until all this snow is melted, that's just not happening. Meanwhile, I'm drooling over peeptoe footwear options for spring!

Such a timely reminder, Angie. I pulled out a light cashmere pink hoodie for today. The color is growing on me to the point that I wouldn't mind more pink.
If this cold and snow keep up, I will be scouring the sales for a white puffer and more brights and pastels in wool.

Angie, I have to tell you that this week I had lunch with a dear friend and she showed up in white jeans and a black shirt. She laughed and said that even though her Southern mother would be horrified at white jeans in winter, "If it's good enough for MaryK, it's good enough for me!" LOL I told her she had YLF to thank for her fab look!

I had lime green specs once and loved them. It was like looking through a margarita all day. No way could you feel gloomy with those on.

A great reminder. I've tried to stop shopping for the winter since spring has already hit the stores, but I may have to add just one more sweater/jumper to keep things fresh since this has been a long and cold (and continuing to be) winter this season!
