I ordered some stuff from COS, thanks to Viva, and I am impressed! I ordered two knit dresses, a sweater, and a skirt. The skirt is too small in the waist but otherwise fabulous, and I'm exchanging for a size up. The knit dresses are total winners. Both are merino, one is bright, and one is a very thick "Milano" knit that feels like it will last forever. Not itchy and as good as anything at Nordstrom. The sweater, a short, swingy, dark grey HEWI, is also a keeper. Not sure whether to be thrilled or tear my hair out that I've found a new place to shop. All of these were on sale at 50% off and it looks like they have lots of sales. Also, sizing seems consistent - I'm a S in everything so far.

Ooh, thanks for the review. I was eyeing some of their sweater dresses too. Glad to hear that they are good quality. Did you think the size chart was accurate?

I will go back and look - I picked fluid fit stuff so size would be a little less of an issue.

Ok, I think they run a little big (i.e. the size chart is smaller than true sizing). It says S is up to 34.5 bust but I am usually comfortable in 36, and all the S items are comfy on me,. You've seen me so you know how we compare. I'd say these are cut more generously than Zara or F21 (and also beter quality).

You savvy enabler and I LOVE what you bought and what I'm seeing here. I can't wait to see them on you and I've never shopped COS. The quality looks lovely as do the colors and, well, the sales price, too. Well worth changing course, I'd say.

I love the citron sweater dress! Why did I look!?

Now I'm intrigued by this...I had never heard of this store. I've been looking though tops.

I'm curious though...all the models look IT! I'm wondering if they are, or if it's the way they are standing, or if the styles are such that they broaden the shoulder line. That might mean the cuts are IT friendly, but I usually feel that if the model looks wide shouldered in something, I will look even more so.

Thoughts on this, my fellow IT?

Oh please STOP. ;-P I mean, I am trying to SYC here. And I had just heard about COS elsewhere (from a YouTuber who does fashion and beauty reviews and vlogs) and it sounded yummy.

Well, I can't look. I am sure, from all you've all just said, that I WOULD find something. And I just, this evening, got the dress I had found at LOFT. Nope. Not looking. But have fun, you all. I will vicariously revel in your finds, here!

Their styles look very rectangle and IT-friendly to me -- is it just my eye, or is it the styling?

Hmmm, didn't think about the IT thing but that could be why their clothing was so attractive to me! It's definitely a lot of looser cuts that hang well on shoulders. Don't see much that is bodycon or fussy looking, more clean lines and drape. They are worth a try if you like these fits - what I appreciate is the consistent style I see so far. I know Angie loves Club Monaco but I don't find their clothes work as well for my body type.

The citron dress runs big - I can pull off the S but if there was an XS available I would size down.

Una, I must thank you for falling off the shopping-abstinence wagon! Checking the links to your COS picks, I found the twin of a dress I had 20 years ago, a much-loved, all-occasion Ann Taylor wool knit swing dress with long sleeves that was a boon to the pear-shaped. I snapped up the black version of your purple dress (which looks great on you, by the way) in spite of difficulties in placing the order (the site claimed my address doesn't exist, so I had to have the dress sent to another address.) I look forward to receiving it. The swingy sweater is another temptation; it looks wonderful with that bronzey skirt, both very chic on you.

And COS has just opened a store in Melbourne, too! Just a quick hop, step and 1800km away...
I'll have to pop in next time I'm there.

I'm so tempted by that citron sweater dress -- over leggings or slim pants or skinny jeans. But I have two citron sweaters already. Is that just too much citron?

Sigh. I'm definitely going to plan to swing by the COS store in NYC when I am there for the conference in late Feb. I'll post some fitting room pics.
