It is a great idea isn't it... and most of us have items in the closet that we love the fabric of, but the shape or size is wrong.
And imagine on a larger scale, if the clothing from a city or town was sent in and reworked how many cool items could be created without purchasing new fabrics or even zips or trims.
On a very small scale I have reworked a few pieces or sent them to the tailor for rework
- pants becoming shorts
- lengthening a skirt
- most recently changing the sleeves and neckline on a tee to make it more flattering
I know Brooklyn has shortened tops to make them work with skirts and Janet has cut off sleeves to make them more flattering.
I am going to take a critical look at my closet this weekend with view to alterations and see if improvements can be made.
