Red Nail Polish + Red Sandals... too much of a good thing, right?

I'll make it short: I have a pair of red sandals this summer. I usually paint my nails tomato red, but I haven't yet this year because I feel I will not wear my new red sandals if I paint them, although they'd suit my other sandals perfectly fine. I know it will be too much red, but asking here is free, right? So what do you think?

YAY = Yeah, what's wrong with that? I'd wear it in a heartbeat

NAY = No way! Red + Red is too much

As long as the reds look good together but don't match perfectly, I think it could work. A picture might be necessary to know for sure...

gosh, it woudn't even have occurred to me to think twice about it. My philosophy is I paint my nails a color that I like and don't worry much about the day to day shoes I wear... some combinations I'm sure are better than others, but I don't NOT wear a pair of shoes based on my toe nail color.

PS: My mum has her nails painted red, so I tried the shoes on her... lol It looks pretty fine, so I think I'll paint them red, like I do every year. Feet look better -or at least mine do

I don't change my pedicure frequently enough to always have an ideal pairing between polish and footwear, so I've accepted that a certain amount of color clashing is inevitable.

Overall, I'd wear a nude polish with a nude shoe without blinking an eye, so I don't find red with red objectionable at all.

Works for me! The only colors I paint my toes are shades between cherry red and dark red, so red toes + red shoes are going to happen:)

Nothing wrong with it! I never worry about my toes matching my shoes. Plus, i think red with red will actually be really fun and cute. =)

I subscribe to the same philosophy at QM. I change my nail color pretty often over the course of the summer. Some combinations, as QM pointed out, are better than others but I really don't worry about it.

I generally don't worry about it, but when I have a special event of some sort, I do choose my nail color with the shoes I am wearing in mind. I was in a wedding a few weeks ago and we wore raspberry dresses, so I made sure to remove the orange polish I was wearing and replace it with a light pink that had a neutral look. I have specifically matched cherry red polish to my cherry red peep-toes in the past, so I don't think red with red is inherently bad. I can see how some shades might look off, but for an everyday look I wouldn't bother. Right now I am wearing a kelly green skirt with mint green toes. The color combination is not the best, but if I was that strict, I would never get to wear fun toenail colors.

As long as the reds are in the same color 'family' - blue-based or yellow-based, you will rock the look!
