Thank you all for the lovely comments. RED was my colour of the year for 2021, so making a special effort to wear more of it in the lead up to Christmas seems a fitting end to the year.

Catherine - I am very happy to say Nutmeg is my friends puppy as she is a handful! I have a rather sedate 9 year old dog called Margot.
Angie - I am so very used to dogs stealing my thunder! I do think Margot can give Nutmeg some competition in the cute stakes, especially as she has a new tartan collar complete with golden westie charms to wear for Christmas.

Iozz_ozz - whilst Nutmeg was not at my house, I do have a fair bit of red in my decor at home - with a red ottoman and chair in my living room.

Sal - thanks so much and I am pleased that the red with the cargo pants worked. Sometimes you just need to wear a robust t-shirt and jeans / pants combination, especially when puppies are involved.
Aquamarine & Jenni - thanks for the love for outfit #1. That is special to me because it is by an Australian designer Carla Zampatti who unfortunately died this year. She made beautiful clothes that were able to cross over from work to going out and with her Italian heritage, was a master of getting a beautiful and tailored fit.
