Red & blue - classic or cheesy?

Hi all - just working on my color palette for the coming season - on my Pinterest boards, etc. there is a lot of blue and white, but also pops of red. I am wondering if that looks a little cheesy - don't want to look like I'm dressed for the 4th of July, or as a sailor!!

If cheesy - what would you suggest as an alternate - wine? pink?

Thanks for weighing in on my endless color dilemmas!

I don't think it's cheesy at all. I saw a swimsuit somewhere that had coral in place of the red (flag design)--it looked pretty.

TG I think there is nothing wrong with the colour combo. I love all 3 colours.
So let's think this way. The outgit inspiration pin you liked?
If we replaced the black denim with equally good fitting blue one it would still look good in my opinion. So we have a black blue red in one outfit and we still love it. So nothing cheesy about it

I like red and blue. But when I wore it on Valentine's Day, it didn't get a very good reception here. Later I copied MaryK and wore orange and blue and it seemed people liked it better. I like them both.

Um, I wore a navy pencil skirt, a red and white striped T, and red shoes to work yesterday.

Ditto to what Suz said. I think that combo plays especially well with adding a other colour if something fab strikes you without putting the capsule into disarray.

Classy/classic. Unless there's an American flag print incorporated into one or more of the articles of clothing then it is likely cheesy.

Carter - I hope that didn't sound at all disrespectful - if I was in the States for the 4th, I would be joining in the celebration of our lovely neighbour-to-the- south!:)
