Red "blouse off" or SYB makes me a crazed window shopper

Humor me if you will . . . which red blouse for me? Or neither one if you think they both are off the mark. Thanks! (I'll be so ready to pull the trigger next month my gun will smoking!)

I'm not loving either one. Aren't you back in the mountains? I think the open sleeve/back of the first and sheer sides of the second make both tops very summery and more challenging to style.

ah, good points, both of you ladies have! I do want something that can dress up or down and imagine it with skinnies most the time, but maybe with my black satin cigarette pants or even tucked into a skirt once in a while.

These have a little too much "slink" factor for me... I'd like to see you in something a bit more grown-up casual rather than young-dressy if that makes sense. I adore this blouse, though apparently it is never going on sale - however, something like it might be lovely on you!

Celia, you are right, I wear mostly casual and only occasionally dress it up a notch.

I get what you're saying Una . . . it's hard to find the fine line between too young and too old. I like the mixed media materials of the second but could take or leave the split shoulder.

I think anyone who wears red is brave. I'm not insane about these cuts or fabrics, with your figure I think you could rock something cut more sleekly, without needing the cutouts.

I think you would look awesome in red but maybe keep looking at a few more styles if you really need it to be able to be dressed up or down. AG posted some nice tops but maybe not perfect for you?

I agree with Una that you might want something a bit more ...grown up or sophisticated. I'm not sure how to explain what I'm getting at, but the first Elizabeth and James blouse she posted is exactly the type of thing.

Speaking of which, ever since Una first posted that blouse way back, it's been sitting in my wishlist too, and ...no, it still hasn't gone on sale. I keep checking every once in awhile too.

I went looking around, and there really aren't too many red blouses around right now...here's a few that might have potential and aren't as pricey as the Elizabeth and James one ...

I just also just noticed that on the Express site - there's also "get $15 off your $60 purchase" - that would make two of the blouses $45..making them just $22.50 each. Upon closer inspection, it appears the free shipping is only on $125...but you can't win them all, right?

I like that last one you posted Mo (Forever 21 I mean) - very pretty, and the zipper at the back makes it a bit more interesting too. This is a casual top, but still - it's pretty fab-looking. Good find It's not really a 'blouse' per se, but it's a lot dressier than an actual tee.

So far the F21 tee/blouse gets my vote. The zipper is a plus since it totally suits your style.

Mo the Forever 21 is the only one here I think is suitable. I like the color, the flowy-ness of it. It can be dressed up or down and can be worn alone of under a jacket. It is also a little more sophositicated and grown up in its styling.
