I was going through the comments on today's blog posting about the color red , and noticed that like me, some fabbers are in the market for a new red bag, so I thought I'd offer some comments on a new one I just tried. The new bag is shown in find #1 , intended to be a dressier sister to my casual nylon red tote shown in find #2 (Michael Kors). A red bag is not a workhorse for me, more of an occasional thing, but I'd like to have a dressier one as an option.

This hobo style is one of my favorites, just the right size, with a handle drop long enough to go over a coat and an extra strap to give it a cross body option. I love the tomato red. I’ve been wanting to try faux leather bags for styles/colors I expect to use only occasionally, to keep my budget under control. I like to swap bags fairly often, have quite a few, and am not particularly hard on them, so again a faux leather option seemed a worthy idea. This new bag seemed to tick all the boxes, I liked the simple styling, and it initially seemed to be reasonable quality. Nice selection of interior pockets, and on sale too. I just noticed that it's sold out!

After using it once for a few hours I’ve decided to return it. It’s very lightweight which is great but the material is so thin that it feels like it will collapse/disintegrate after just a few wearing. Also the lining fabric seems like it could tear easily. Maybe it would be right for someone but not for me, so back it goes. NEXT.
