Recommendations for faux leather leggings?

Cheryl's fantastic WIW and Maneera's recent post on her tunic legging uniform have me wondering where fabbers have had good luck with faux leather leggings...thinking its time to amp up this FFBO!

Lysse are my favorite leggings.

I have tried HUE and Two by Vince Camuto and nothing measures up to the fit on Lysse. They don't stretch or bag out, I don't have to fuss with them, I like the wide flat waistband, I could go on.

I got some from F21 last year and enjoyed them. However, as they sat in my closet during the warmer months, I discovered that the dye was bleeding onto my white jeans! It was tough to get out. So I would probably stick to higher-end leggings.

I'm so glad you asked about these! I've been wanting a pair for a year or two to perk up basic sweaters. I've tried on skads. None have worked for me. I just ordered a pair of Lysse ones from Amazon with free returns, so I'll let you know. If you find any keepers, let us know!

Oh, please all tell me what will work for my body type? Slim hourglass with longish rise, muscular thighs, relatively slim hips -- and a problem with leggings ALWAYS creeping down. I really want to try faux leather but the Lysee partial faux leather ones I had last year were a total bust -- always crawled down on me.

Suz, I'm an IT, no hip, muscular thighs, long rise gal and these Spanx dont creep. They are super high waisted (follow the Find and look at the back view) the intent being smoothing and not causing muffin top. They're more supportive than most tights and leggings, more like a thick yoga pant or running tight that you want to be supportive and not flimsy. Una likes hers too, so I'd recommend you try them. I've tried pleather and they will NOT work if your thighs rub together...I just get stuck trying to walk in the dressing room!

I swear by the Aritzia/Wilfred ones, especially for the Canadians (Suz!). They're buttery soft, don't creep down, high waisted (higher than in the photo). I love mine, I'm on my second pair, I actually wore out my first pair after several years.

Yes, I love them, and like the ones which have a leather look, even I don't have many looks with them but am located in the EU, so guess will not help with recommandation:-(.

I know you wondered about faux leather, but after a couple of bad experiences with faux leather pants being very uncomfortable for lack of breathing, I tend to stay away from them. Instead, I go for leggings partly made of genuine leather. Mine are from Marciano (I got the grey ones). I love them! Front = leather, back = stretchy material.

Crackers, what is the sizing like on the Aritzia?

And Krishnidoux, same for the Marciano? Are they TTS? And did you get the grey ones? I am tempted to try that because grey would be a nice change from black, black, black....

No recommendations here as mine are from a cheap store and I don't even know the brand, but just wanted to say that once you find a pair you like, I wouldn't be surprised if you end up wearing them ALL THE TIME!

Suz, I'm a medium in the Aritzia ones. For comparison I wear a 28 in Rag and Bone Dres, I think we both have those. My guess is you would be a small, the xs is teeny in the thighs.

Okay--update!

Lysse leggings arrived from Amazon. I tried them on. Husband espied them. Stunned silence. Then, when he'd recovered himself, "You HAVE to keep those." So, they are a winner at my house!

General assessment: Weight is nice heavy legging/light ponte weight. Very nice. Light enough to be flexible and form fitting, but heavy enough to provide some hold and to smooth over any bumps. Leatherette looks great and feels acceptable (it will never be lamb leather, but who cares when you need washable?). Mine were the ones with vegan leather side panels. The leggings are lined on the inside, so you don't have skin on vegan leather contact. (Yay!) Fitwise, I'm pretty straight in the hips and they are a little fitted in the waist to me, but not pinching. I wear a 4 in Banana Republic and J Crew and a small fit me very closely for a legging look, but I sized up to a medium for more of a pant fit. The high rise is very high on me, but they feel like they will stay in place. Plus no slip down and exposure if you bend over.

I have the Lysse leggings in the coated version, so they look like leather. They are substantial, fit well, and are practically windproof which makes them perfect for winter. The rise is really high but I'm good with that because they don't roll when I sit.

Also have the Spanx, but those are more true leggings and I sized up for comfort - even then they are quite fitted.

Sounds like the Lysse are the ones for me to try...also the Aritzia's sound like winners, too! I'm a little worried about the hot and sweaty factor synthetic plastic creates anywhere near me.....at my age that is something to consider. Has anyone experienced this?

Carole, I'm VERY sensitive to the hot and sweaty factor, I can rarely wear anything synthetic, let alone tight and plastic! ButI find mine comfy and not sweaty at all, they're brushed and soft on the inside which helps a lot and there's no claminess, and I wear them a lot Oct- April.
