Recent sandal purchase and review (Walking Co - Abeo brand)

As some of you know I am preparing for a trip where I will be doing a lot of walking. I received 2 pairs of sandals from the Walking Company last week and I wanted to share my thoughts with YLF.

I narrowed it down to two pairs on an earlier thread. I asked if anyone had experience with this brand (Abeo) but I got little feedback. I went ahead anyway as I've heard good things about The Walking Comapany in general for comfortable shoes.

Well, I must say I am thrilled beyond belief - both pairs I got are totally comfortable yet stylish. I can wear them all day and test drove them on days where I did a lot of walking, and they were super comfortable out of the box. No slippage, no rubbing, no blisters, nothing!

I was going to get only one but I am glad I decided to order both, and after trying them on, I am keeping both! They are going to be workhorses in my WFH/MOTG life, not to mention how valuable they'll be while on vacation.

I hope this helps someone along the way if needing info on this brand.

I really like the Laguna's, but I also see how incredibly versatile the first pair will be. I didn't realise the Walking Company had so many stores all over the country (I just looked them up).

I wish I had time to make it to the store while I was in Austin, but I didn't. I might have gotten myself in trouble if I did, though. Both pairs I ordered online were FAB, I cannot wait to wear them and I can totally tell they are going to be workhorses. I have a hard time telling myself no while shopping so I probably would have walked out with several more pairs!

Re their customer service, it seems really good from my few experiences:
1. I called the local Austin store before ordering online to ask if they carried the gold pair in store, but they didn't. The guy told me if I order them online and they don't fit, I can come in the store to return them and they would do a scan of my foot and guide me toward shoes that would fit well. I think this is a standard service they offer in the stores.
2. They will allow you to wear the shoes for a month (at home, on carpet) to decide if you really want to keep them. If not, they will accept the refund. I guess this isn't too different from many other retailers but he actually encouraged me to try them this way to confirm the fit was good.
3. I paid only $5 for extra fast shipping (normal shipping was free)

Overall my experience was great. Next time I'm in town I might stop by the store just to check out the stock vs online (though I know onilne they have WAY more selection).

Thanks for posting this and I'm glad you tried them. I haven't heard of this brand before. I see that we can get the regular footbed or the metatarsal pad footbed. I usually have to add metatarsal pads and sometimes it is a pain with sandals. I'm going to try these.

Rachy, you should go to a store and let us know how it goes. I'm curious because I recall popping into a store once and not being too impressed with the selection but it could have been just the one store I saw (and probably spent a total of 30 seconds in). I'd definitely give it another try. If not, know their selection online is huge.

MsMaven, I had never heard of metatarsal foot pads until I saw this site. Apparently they have lots of shoes for people with foot problems, too. I highly recommend them and their shoes. Please let us know how it goes.

I really just wanted to put the review out there in case anyone else hadn't heard of this store or brand and wanted more info before making a purchase.
