I combatted the January blues with some shopping ... but thankfully (I guess) it's not all staying. Today there is major snow so I tried stuff on, and I had mixed results. Please weigh in with your thoughts.
First up: Red BCBG MaxAzria pants from Angie's blog post. Gorgeous pants, great recommendation from Angie. The problem? They are sized S-M-L. I appear to be a S+ or a M-. Pics 1&2 are the small. Chandler and Koda are sad that the pants are a bit tight, although the length is just perfect. Pics 3-5 are the Medium. Koda is worried about the dropped crotch (more apparent in 4) and the many inches of extra fabric at the bottom. These are going back. If you are a size 2-4 or an 8-10, you would love these beautiful pants. I think those of us who are more in the 4-6 range are out of luck.
Pics 6-11 show me in the AG Nikkis, also an Angie reco. I should note that I was able to purchase these at a deep discount because they are available at Anthro where my daughter works (don't hate me!). I did not size up, despite the advice, because I read some other reviews about sizing that seemed to suggest the opposite. I gambled and went with my normal size. Like Janet, I think I could go either way, depending on how slouchy I wanted the fit. I actually love these in my normal size: they fit exactly like what they say they are, a slouchy skinny. If I sized up, they would probably fit more like my BF jeans, which is more slouch than I want. These have room in the thigh and a little room in the butt, and this is before any stretching due to wear. So for me that is perfect. I love how they are narrow at the ankle. Cute with heels. These I am keeping.
Pics 9-12 show the Les Chiffoniers citron blouse from The Outnet. I am on the fence but leaning toward returning because I think the fit is awkward, although I love the color and am ready to commit to another Citron top. (You were right, Gigi. It does take love to commit to this much citron.) The sleeves are very long, even for a long-armed person like me, and they don't have a cuff of any kind, just some kind of glossy interior lining almost like a patent leather taping. If you scrunch the sleeves, they don't stay, which is annoying. I'm not totally sold on the drape of the material either. It's a little stiff. What do you all think?
Thanks for looking and for chiming in! Honest, unvarnished thoughts. Please!!
