Recent purchases: for Fall

I found a few other goodies at Wal*Mart while I was exchanging my white skinnies for a larger size (see: Still stuck on skinnies!).
I'm curious to see what you all think. Longer length jackets and vests are a new thing for me, and I'm not sure what to think.

Again the prices of these things are ridiculous (the blazer was $3, the knit vest $9) but that isn't the only reason to keep them.

Great finds. I love longer length jackets and vests so I love these on you.
The white pants look good. Do they feel good? Do they bag out quickly like some denim does? Or keep their size?

I had such a to-do with knee boots last fall. I think this year I want to take my time and try on lots of boots and find at least one really good pair.

Ooh, pretty! And a good deal, too.

I'm keeping an eye on EBay for a pair of harness boots. My friend let me test drive her boots this weekend, so I figured out my size. I can't believe how heavy those boots are! I do like their Boho vibe.

First of all, Sarah. MY GOODNESS. You have lost SO MUCH weight. Your silhouette is straightening out. Amazing!

Okay Ms. bargain hunter of the decade, I like both jacket lengths on you. I hands down prefer the long sleeved long jacket to the long waistcoat. I find the silhouette at that length WITH sleeves a lot more flattering because it strengthens your shoulder line which balances out the bottom part of your body. Hope that makes sense.

I too am finished with Summer and getting Autumn looks into shape. Such fun!

I was surprised that I liked the longer jacket on me, too. I like the vest too, but I definitely don't want a weak shoulder line. I'll play around with it for a few more days.
Summer has never been my favorite season. I always get just enough to get by, but spend more on fall/winter apparel. Which makes no sense, considering where I live.
And thanks for the kind comment, Angie. I've worked so hard in the past year and a half. For the last few months I was getting so discouraged with my lack of progress (probably because I wasn't working as hard?). But the last month, I have kicked things into high gear again and am just now starting to see the changes again. Yay!
I'm normally not a bargain hunter, but it seems to make sense right now. I'm spending more on shoes and accessories since they'll always fit.

Sarah, I love the longer jacket on you. The longer vest, not so much. And now that Angie has explained, makes sense to me as to why. I've been here only 2 months and you've lost quite a bit in that time!
