Really late to the Fuchsia party: WI might W to work holiday dinner

I really wanted to participate in Fuchsia Friday, but I have been just swamped at work, so today was my first chance to play. Sorry!

I have a work-related holiday party coming up; it's cocktails and dinner at a nice restaurant, then an after-party at a martini bar. I want to look festive, but not too, too dressy. How does this work?

LBD- Ann Taylor
Bright pink silk jacket- Truth & Pride, from Nordstrom
Black microfishnets
Peep-toe black patent heels- Cole Haan
Snakeskin clutch

Questions:
Are the micro-fishnets OK with this, or should I go with sheer black?
Is it OK to wear hose with the peep-toe pumps? I really need to wear hose for coverage and for warmth, but these are my most comfortable black heels for standing at a cocktail party.

Frankly lovely. You have a very strong, but cheerful look here. The proportions on you are also very good.

I think the hose and the shoes go just fine together.

I plan on wearing fuchsia over black this year too. :o)

Oooh - you got that Truth and Pride jacket!!! I was looking at it, too, but decided it was too vivid a pink for me.

For you, however, it is SUBLIME! You look gorgeous, sophisticated, and so festive!

Re the microfishnets....depends on your own personal comfort level, I suspect. From a distance they really do read like sheer black hose.

Ditto for the peep toe. I think it is okay (and usually I am a nay-sayer on this) but it would depend on the quality of the hose to some degree. Some are..you know...better made.

Suz, I saw that you were considering this jacket. I got mine last summer, I think, and yes, it is BRIGHT, so I only wear it when I'm feeling bold!
It also is not an everyday jacket, since it's lightweight and silk, but I do like it for a pop of color over black or white.
I wanted to tell you, I did see the Trina Turk fuchsia jacket at Nordies, and it is SO pretty! Are you still thinking about it?

Great outfit! You have the best jacket collection, and I really like the fishnets with these shoes, even though this is a not-so-standard combination. I think it is also fun to wear fuchsia, rather than red, for a holiday party - still festive but not as predictable.

I am still thinking about the Trina Trunk, but not feeling desperation about it. The H&M one will certainly last me this year, and maybe that is good enough? I did see that the Trina Trunk one is on sale. I am also not sure if it is the right shade of fuchsia for me; it looks maybe more toward the pink end? I SO wish I lived near a Nordies....

Suz, The Trina Turk one seemed to be a true fuchsia, and the closure was unique- kind of asymmetrical, which is not obvious in the picture. Oh, I wish, too, that you could easily try it on, because I thought it would be great on you, but who knows until you try it.

I LOVE the way the earrings, jacket and v neck of the dress play together. As others have said this is a great look. My only thought is that you could get away with more wrist and forearm festivity, if you choose to do so. Especially since the clutch is black.

(And I see no issue with the stockings and peep toes.)

Okay....now you have got me really curious....asymmetrical closure?? That gets my heartrate going! Did you really like the quality? I am SO tempted....

Suz, it looked to me like the front buttons were sort of on the diagonal. (although I could be crazy and imagining things!). The quality looked excellent to me.
If only you had free shipping and returns to Canada it would be a no-brainer to try it!
As it is, I know it's a gamble.

Yes, you are right....it would be so simple to try except for duty which is through the roof. I just put an Nordstrom's order in and was in shock at the extra I had to pay. Hmmm. More thinking. Do you know anything about TT sizing? Is it true to size?
