I may have found “my” new trouser width for a wardrobe staple/classic, to which I can add trendier styles here and there.

#1-3—Keeping! new AT curvy “straight leg” triacetate blend with good drape and lined and about 2-3 ‘ narrower than “trouser” style but still a trouser vibe. Also no side pockets; fit better through hip. This is not NOT the same as on –line—At has a rayon-blend curvy straight-leg on line, went to store, found petite, too fitted, asked to try regular and SA came back with these and didn’t realize they were a different style and fabric. Hems look funny as are folded up. These still drape over a variety of higher-vamped “comfort” shoes/oxfords/boots which some narrower styles do not. Would love this width in not-black and in wool tweedy/microchecks.

#4 For reference, my AT pants in “trouser” style shown with same top. These have about 20-21 ” wide legs and look more schtumpifying to me, hence a change desired. Photos may not show the difference, but is more so IRL.

5-9 # AT Linen-cotton pants—K/R dilemma here. Wide-ish leg, but love the fit and rise for belting/tucking. . An AHA! kind of fit. Love at first zip but then… the creasing starts. I moved & sat to crease them up to see if it’s tolerable fashion-wise and me-wise. Not sure; a whole day of wear should crease much more. Pants are problematic compared to jackets because of um, where the creasing is. I did note that they crease sharply when I sit, then relax a bit when up moving around—or, wishful thinking? I would wear these to work, so, would I look fashionably Southern-rumpled or like a hot mess? I love the wheaty color and weightier fabric; frustrated re: the linen. Keep, or return and list them as an aspirational-fit dream?

#3 & 9,10, 11 Trying AT abstract print blouse in springy colors. Short placket & drapey material aids in trying Angie’s fully-tucked faux tuck. ? too much like pajamas? Too boyish? Too 60’s? #10 is Blouse with my “old” AT olive-gray trousers –are even wider than the standard black trouser. Matches blouse, but lot of volume. I just love this color—goes with black + colors-- but the width is killing me now.#11 is blouse worn high-low over skinnier pants--not for work.
