R&B/HIP HOP CONCERT

My boyfriend and I have tickets for the Trey Songz and Monica tour on Aug. 12. I am at a lost as to what to wear. I'm not really into jeans or dresses (only because at my price point, fit is extremely hard to find and alterations are outside of the budget). It is predominantly warm here year round, so buying warm weather clothing this late in the season would not be a waste. I'm afraid of over/under dressing. I am much more comfortable in heels rather than flats for extended standing and walking (due to the fact that I have NO ARCHES in my feet and something about the tilted position that heels provide is comfortable). Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone in advance for your time, consideration and help with my dilemma.

What about some kind of a heels and shorts outfit like Angie blogged about recently? Maybe a jacket would be too warm, but some kind of a pretty blouse?

I'm not really sure how dressed up people are at this type of concert. My first thought was perhaps a denim skirt with a fun top and a wedge heel? Or how about clams with a dressier top, a wedge heel, and some type of jacket/waistcoat/cardigan?

Neva, is the concert general admission (and standing) or do you have reserved seats? If it's GA, are you going to come super early, or right before doors open? You said that you prefer heels, so there, you already answered my question. Also, it could get very hot with a crowd, even with a/c, so consider layers (and it may be cold on the way back home).

Also, I wouldn't worry about being under dressed because in my *extremely* limited experience, people don't dress up enough for pop concerts - it's a shame

Lana-that outfit is awesome! I LOVE the shoes especially! It was very considerate of you to take the time to read my profile and get a "feel" for what i'm into fashion wise.

I would switch out the self fabric belt on the dress for something else- maybe gold.

I was also going to suggest switching out the belt, maybe something in black, medium to wide, with studs or a seriously large buckle.

Great dress! I'm certainly not the best at this, but for me, the pattern on the clutch is fighting a bit with the flowers on the dress. Not sure if it's the color or the different patterns. Could you do a different clutch - maybe silver or something a bit more neutral, so that the dress stands out more? And maybe a shiny/fun belt? Can't wait to see what you end up with!

All of the accessories that I picked are very similar to items that I already own. I switched the shoes to show everyone the color of the shoes I intend to wear. The brown belt that I have is made of leather and not fabric. Please let me know what you all think of this ensemble!

I like the belt. It's harder for me to visualize till I see everything on the person but I have hunch that there might be too much going on with the outfit. A signature dress (ooo, gorgeous) with a bold pattern, a belt, bracelet, and earrings. I would encourage you to play around with removing one accessory to 'lighten" the look and see what happens.
