How's that for some alphabet soup in the title? Did you get all that?

I haven't posted a WIW in forever (ugh, summer), so I figured I'd snap a random one today.

My favorite jeans ripped at the start of the summer, after 80+ wears. These are emergency Old Navy replacements. They're roughly the same shape, but I can tell already I'm not going to love them as much....too much stretch, and not enough heft to the denim.

The top is an Eileen Fisher linen shell that I absolutely love. Its more cropped length just feels really versatile with the slouchy pants I've been gravitating towards for most of my summer wardrobe.

Also wearing leather Chuck Taylors and a Misfit Ray fitness band, along with no makeup and half a smile because I just got back from the dentist an hour ago.

Hi Sal! I wish it were winter. Wanna trade? The fringe is a fun change, but I think I'll probably let it grow out once summer is over. I miss my old hair.

Nice proportions. You really got good use from your old jeans. These look good too, but too bad they don't feel the same.

delurked - The upside to these jeans is that they're made from Old Navy's eco-friendly fabric, with post-consumer plastics. I'll get at least 30 wears from them, hopefully, and be able to feel good about that!

Jenn I like the cropped top with the slouchy jeans. Great look. My favourite jeans failed this summer too. I can't complain. I am sure I wore them many times (I don't keep track).
Our summer has been mostly rain.

Sterling, the top is black. I actually have several black sleeveless tops in my wardrobe, though they're different styles and fabrics. I wear them all...definitely an essential for my style!

You look wonderful. The EF top is just the right length. I made the mistake of buying a similar white one in petite. It feels too short. I need at stick to regular sizes.

Suz, I almost said something in my post about the hi-low mixing, but then I got caught up in whether Eileen Fisher really counted as "high" or if it was just upper mid and my class anxiety kicked in.

shevia, yes. I have not really regretted any of my upgraded essentials!

Joy, I think that shorter is working better these days with waistbands finally rising. Have you tried the petite one with skirts?

Firecracker, I do think it's funny that we don't even really blink at these acronyms and abbreviations after a while. We really do have our own language!

JAileen, FOUR hours? Ugh. When I walked in yesterday, the receptionist actually said, "You always look so cute. I like your style," and I thought, if the dentist's receptionist is familiar with my style, I'm here TOO MUCH! I do feel like I've been there constantly these past few months with a root canal and another crown.

You know Jenn, given that I'm not from the US and yet recognised what EF was instantly and what ON was a split second later... It means I'm on the forum far too much!
I can tell you a funny story about Old Navy. The first time we took the family to the US in 2002, we were in Disneyland California, and there were all these Old Navy T-shirts. I actually said to a shop assistant, is it a special day to celebrate the US Navy or something? ( Like you know, remember its origins, remember Pearl Harbour 1941 or something? ) They laughed and said no, it's just a brand. Great idea of the jeans. And I love your leather Chucks.
I'm still assiduously trying to do the 30 wears. Would only get to 80 on handbags.

Thanks, Sterling! I think I actually ordered mine from Garnet Hill, so you might check there. Seems to be an Eileen Fisher staple, though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it back next year.

Sterling - GH Has them on clearance right now, but in very limited sizing. Seconding that they carry a lot of EF.
