Ran out of hangers.

I bought two new tops and when I went to hang them up, only one hanger was available. Does anyone else stop purchasing when the hangers in the closet are not available?

It's either stop shopping, buy hangers or reorganize some other way... People who do one item in the closet/ one out have no problems with this. That's where one can see the value of it.
The easiest is to buy hangers though.

I have had extra hangers for the last year now, and I plan to keep it that way!

Yes. Lack of closet space and hangers is like a big red light to stop shopping and work with what is in the closet.

No--I purge instead. It's usually a sign to me that what I currently have on hangers is not working for me; I'm not wearing it for some reason. Or it might mean that it is time for my seasonal change-out. I am running into that problem now, as I do every year when the seasons transition. I don't have enough hangers for all of my clothes for all four seasons, so some have to get packed away. But our weather has been all over the place lately (40s to 70sF), so I can't swap stuff out just yet.

I think Angie has a limited number of hangers and does not buy more than she can fit -- or rather, commits to "one in/ one out."

I just updated my hangers this weekend for the lower profile ones and there were 50 in the box. I have extras, yay!! Admittedly, my skirts and trousers on separate "stacked" hangers, so really we're just talking tops, dresses, and toppers.

Hahaha.
I was GOING to do the " 40 hangers"....
I have gone back and forth on the all- in closet vs. seasonal storage vs. rotating actual capsules.
We've had a very long stretch of mild fall weather so I keep dipping back into
Lighter weight clothes and even just wanting to create new outfits with new+ old pieces or new layering ideas to extend seasons - so, rummaging for " where is that sleeveless shell" or, "my dressy gray T would look great with these new pants" or " it's so cold at work I can wear these wool pants even though it's 85 degrees outside" meaning, at heart I may really be an all- in person ( exception for storing heavier sweaters).

Which means I've run out of hangers and think I need to toss some things!

I'm not super strict about it but it does mean that I need to clean out my closet, and probably stop buying stuff for a while.
