Rain poncho for biking

So I want to try and bike more to work in winter. I’ve looked at tons of options and have settled on a poncho from Cleverhood.
I can’t decide between the two patterns, Houndstooth versus Gingham.
I really like gingham in general, but the houndstooth is nice too
My e-bike is navy.

The houndstooth is black and the gingham navy, right? If so, I would probably go with gingham, to match your bike.

Those are pretty cool rain gear! I like the houndstooth, but the effect seems a bit grey and gloomy. The gingham looks like it might be a bit more of a pick me up on an already grey day.

If I were planning to ride in the rain I would get something bright, so drivers would be more likely to see me. I have been hit twice by cars while riding my bike. It’s not fun.

Oh, those are cool! My BFF got a similar one at the Expo for the Five Boro Bike Tour when we rode it together a couple of years ago (I’m hoping to do it again next spring — I’ve gotten a bit gunshy of riding on the roads and would like to get back into it). I wonder if that’s the same company hers was from.

These are nice! I like the Gingham because it is brighter and more easily seen on a rainy day.

It’s reflective, and honestly this time of year, I’ll be riding in the dark both ways.

ETA, my pannier has a neon yellow/green rain cover. My helmet is white. I also ordered neon reflective velcro straps for my pants.

I did look at more traditional rain jackets for biking, and there’s a paucity of options in my size

I would go for the gingham, probably, but I really do like the houndstooth as well.

I have a red e-bike, a white helmet, and black and red panniers.

I’ll be an outlier and go with houndstooth, since both are small enough that they might look like a false plain. Love the concept- you find some of the most unique items.

These are great! I love the idea of a rain poncho even if not biking. Can just throw it over everything including a purse or backpack. Nice and long too.

Oh my gosh, I love the gingham! And reflective threads throughout! Wish I hadn't seen these. I don't need one. But so cool. I'm not crazy about a hood while biking, but some people do make them work nicely. Usually I just try to ignore it and put a hat on under my helmet. (I like to be able to turn my head right and left and see, so I don't wear a hood under or over the helmet.) But the hood makes the cape more functional for off-bike use, IMO, which I like.

Ooh, nice. Love the magnetic snaps on sleeves. Does your bike have a headlight? I recently had generators put on our bikes for headlights; the guy who installed them said he’d heard that people in the US use them to power their phones while they ride.
