I am seeking what is apparently a unicorn: a true racerback sports bra that comes in my size. I’ve ordered a few from Bare Necessities and Knix and all were disasters. I have ordered a couple more from Nordstrom (pics below) and am crossing fingers that one works well.

Most “racerback” sports bras available in a small band/large cup size are the convertible kind, with a little hook on the back straps so you can pinch them together. I don’t find those kind terribly comfortable — being short in the torso means that often the straps have to be hooked together rather high up on my back, which makes the straps dig into my shoulder and neck uncomfortably. They can also be difficult to hook.

I tried a couple convertible types that have straps that can be crossed instead, and I find those much better, but the other details on those bras didn’t work (a bulky front zip closing on one, too padded cups on another — like, seriously? What G cup woman wants more padding?!).

I would just like a nice supportive bra to wear under my workout tops that have cut in armholes — I am vain enough that I like the look without bra straps showing, especially since cute strappy styles are not available in my size (US 32G). Reduction surgery would be nice but it’s not on the table for now.

Has anyone found a good racerback sports bra? Bras are hard! Sports bras seem even harder.
