I would try to match the purple with a pullover sweater or cotton pullover, sort of a modern sweater set. At least a print with the same shade of purple in it. Not finding the right purple I would go with a neutral with about the same density like deep purple with black or lavender with a crisp white or a beige. You could add a print scarf with some of the purple in it.

That is a pretty plum color. I would do as Joy suggested or wear over a turtle neck top, maybe a stripe with a neutral and purple.

well i'm kind of boring, i'd wear it over a long sleeve tee in white, black or if i could find it, a stripe with plum/purple in the same tone as the vest. and of course, if you run cold, you could layer on top of it with a boyfriend blazer, denim jacket or utility jacket
