Question about the VC blouse...

What size did you get?

I love the idea of this blouse (a truly fab find that Angie posted), and I ordered a medium, but it seems a lot larger on me than I expected. Just for clarification, I'm *normally* between a size 8-10, but have been battling a few extra pounds lately.

Thing is? I really like the blouse, but it (medium) seems way too big on me. I was quite surprised. I honestly thought I was pushing it, by ordering a medium, because I thought it would be too small for me. Now I realize this blouse is meant to be extremely loose and sort of blouse-y, but the medium really was way too big.

For those of you who actually own this blouse (pictured below), what size did you end up getting? Did you size down a wee bit? And if so, by how much?

In the meantime - I loved the Kut from the Kloth "Catherine" boyfriend jeans that I ordered after seeing them on Sveta. My "usual" size fit beautifully (and by "usual" I mean five + pounds ago...gah!). They are just about perfect, and I couldn't be happier. A *fab find* courtesy of Sveta. Very comfortable, flattering and much better (for me) than most boyfriend jeans out there.

Enough of my overly long post - I just mainly wanted to ask if those of you who ordered the beautiful VC blouse had to size down a whole lot?

I did not size down because I was afraid that the medium was going to be too small in the bust and shoulders. I purchased a Large, and it's generously sized (not too big, but definitely not tight by any means and giving me a very "blousey" fit.) If I was between sizes, I'd definitely size down.

You are one lucky girl, vc. I loved that blouse as soon as I saw it on Kari, but since I have a scrawny neckline, it didn't work for me in the red and blue that was available. Can you order a smaller size?

I'm so glad to hear your feedback on the BF jeans. I've been eyeing the GAP Sexy BF jeans and now these, too.

Vicki - I haven't actually tried the Gap Sexy BF jeans yet - it's just that when I saw Sveta's post, "I've Got a Boyfriend Too" - I loved the BF jeans she found at Nordstrom and immediately ordered the exact same style. I got the pale colour (Glory), which I love, but will likely also order the darker wash as well. Just for the record, in my experience, Kut jeans are cut on the larger side, so if you try these, be sure to size down, "boyfriend" or not. Having said that, if you wanted a super-slouchy look, you might order your usual size in these. In any case - these (Kut from the Kloth Catherines) are very nice BF jeans. They seem very flattering on.

Now I just need to find a *fab* black skirt to go with that VC blouse. I'm thinking of the VC blouse as a perfectly transitional item between summer and fall. I did not end up ordering the VC tube skirt in green even though I loved it on Kari - just felt like it wouldn't be too kind to my so-called "wobbly bits". Having said that though - the blouse *does* look really gorgeous with a black skirt as per other fab WIW's I've seen around YLF.

Before I forget - here's a different VC blouse that has that beautiful shade of green in it, but does *not* have the wide open neckline or blouse-y shape (it's in my wishlist for now):

So, if you've got a hankering for that green colour, you might want to try the green shirt (shown in below photo, in case you didn't feel like clicking on the link)

In the meantime, I'll return the medium in the VC 'peasant' blouse and order the small.

Yes, I had to size down on the VC peasant blouse as well to XS--I usually wear a S and 4-6 in most clothes. I was swimming in the S and the even the XS was still blousy. I ended up returning the top though, because I was afraid it wouldn't be versatile enough for me to keep.

I also got the Kut Catherines in the darker wash! I got an 8 (up from my usual 6), but I've gained about 4-5 lb lately. Haven't tried the Gap version.

That emerald green snake blouse is just STUNNING!
