I would wear a red bag! Mine would have to be very bright.

I have a lipstick coral & burgundy Marc Jacobs bag that I wear during the warmer months (the one I wore to the LJ meet-up: http://youlookfab.com/2009/10/.....los-gatos/ ). I guess that's my "red" bag for now.

Before YLF (I think I'm not the only one who's always talking about my fashion life before YLF and after;-) I only had one brown and one black bag.

Now I really don't know what I'm going to do without my red bag that is falling apart. I'm still amazed at how often I opted for this bag and how extremely well it went with all my outfits!
It was an inexpensive Esprit bag in a cool blue-ish red (my favourite shade of red, and a surprisingly hard colour to find in a bag, all suggestions welcome, because I'm on the look-out!!-)

P.S. I now also have a largish teal bag and just bought a greyish cream one at H&M. And I won't stop there, I've seen the light and love how brighter coloured bags add more interest to my outfits. (I absolutely adore Angie's blue bag, definitely one of a kind, that's the kind of blue I'm dreaming of, and purple, green and yellow are also on my wish list).

I am also sold on a bag in a nice burgundy color. I carried it all winter and got many compliments on it, even from Angie!!
Now that spring is apon us I have switched to a creamy white bag, which I'm loving. Angie also commented on the beauty and simplicity of the creamy white leather.
If you find the right red for you, and the right cream/white/milk/alabaster colored bag for you, you will be a happy bagger.
I now have on order a pretty, sort of yoga mat, medium sea blue color, and a abstinth/apple green. I can't wait to see how those work with my outfits too.
Happy Days ahead.

I have 2 red bags in my collection. One patent one matt, love them both:)

I love red bags. Thats what I'm carrying now. I want another one but haven't found the right one yet.

Debbie, look at Nordstroms website for red bags made by Valentino! I bet you'll find another red bag that you love there! (tee-hee, as they say)

Never say never, but I purposely avoid them. I just don't like red very much, and I don't wear it. Considering that- the right shade would probably be a good choice for me since it would never be too matchy-matchy with my wardrobe.

I haven't bought one yet, but I know I will someday! Right now I am still enjoying all the gorgeous Coach bags I got when Shopping Friend worked there...but if I could find a great red clutch I would snap it up!

I have only just bought my first and would dearly love a few more!!

I'm a bit in love with red though - I don't wear a lot of it, but love it.

I would love to buy a red handbag, but usually chicken out! I have lots of greens (citrons, apple, etc.) in my wardrobe and worry that red would not work with all my greens. . .

I have really been trying to add red, so maybe I will happen on the right shade of red (what would that be?) for a bag and some flats.

Instead, I have found myself settling for bright fuschias as a sort of substitute for red, but I KNOW they don't make the same style statement that red makes.

I love, love red bags. The right red can work well as a neutral in my wardrobe.

Red bags for the win! Hehee! Bring them on!

Considering my great love for red bags and shoes, it's puzzling that I have only two red handbags. One retro shaped pebbled leather bag and one old sporty Le Sportsac hobo (which has been retired).

Funny enough, although I have a red(ish - really more coral) bag and would love a bright, big cherry red bag, the thing that stops me is similar to what Marianne mentioned. My favorite winter coat is forest green, and I feel like I'd look too Christmas-y with a red bag against it - I have a bright mauve/orchid handbag that works well with the coat instead. Additionally, two of my favorite pairs of comfortable pumps are red, which would be really matchy-matchy. I wouldn't say that a bright red bag is out of the question, but it probably wouldn't be something that would work with my color palette every day.

I love red bags! I usually prefer a darker cranberry or burgundy red but I'd like to find a great cherry red bag this year. Since I wear mostly neutrals (and lots of black & white), red is the perfect accompaniment.

My son got me one for my birthday in jan, and that's the only thing in my closet that's making me happy right now, OK it's not in my closet, because I carry it every day!!!

I have one red bag. I think they're great! I don't have a lot of red in my wardrobe, but I'm always drawn to them. I'm looking for some comfortable red flats.

HI Angie,

Yes to the red pocketbook.

Ironically, during my 15 years as an East Coast city chick clothed in black from head to toe, the only real color that I had in my "wardrobe" was a red bag and red shoes.

I find this question fascinating.
