Quick K/R question

I picked up these white culottes at Lululemon the other day. They are really cool... have a slit up the leg that doesn't show in these photos, so are quite interesting in motion.

But I think I'm going to take them back. But before I do, I would love for your opinion... I want to see if any of you see the same thing I see... which is the reason I'm hesitant. I'm not sure if I'm being overly critical or what.

The hems don't seem to hang straight and they certainly seem to be a bit see through.......but I like this style culotte on you. GREAT tops.

Thanks DizzyLizzy. The hem is probably how I'm standing, that leg is a bit further forward. The see-throughness is almost my issue.

Oh, you can see the pockets showing through. Is that the problem? That would bother me. Otherwise, though, they look good on you.

I like them on you and I know this is a weird opinion I have but I don't mind when pocket liners show through because to me it's just Bauhaus.

Ok, so you're all spotting the pockets. What's bugging me is partly that you can see the pockets, but mainly that I feel it looks like I'm wearing mens boxers

Am I overly sensitive? They actually aren't very see-through... no issues whatsoever with my undies. But that white on white line.... I dunno. I am wearing them with longer tops here to see if it disguises it a bit, as you can see.

Maybe I'll sit on them for another couple of days, try with more tops. If Angie says keep it can't be that bad. Can it?

Well, I see pocket outlines which is a gigantic dealbreaker for me. (This is why I don't own any white pants. Well that and the dirt issue.)

Do you also see the seam lines in the back? (I also hate those.)

You can see the pockets but truly it doesn't look like you're wearing men's boxers. Are you using a flash on your camera? Might that be making it more pronounced than IRL?

Yes. I see the pockets…does not look like you are wearing boxers, but that might still be a deal breaker in my book. However, you might be able to remedy that by having the pockets removed by a tailor… and the slits sewn up as faux pockets. I must say that I really love the culotte silhouette and color on you. I especially like them paired with the asymmetrical top.

If it really makes you feel like you're wearing men's boxers, rounding off the bottoms of the pockets is really easy - like a teardrop, look at your other pockets.

I like them. If pocket lining is the only issue you can always sew them shut and cut off the lining

I especially like them with that black top.

I like them on you, you look great! I would cut the pockets and sew them shut, but I pretty much never use pockets anyways. They definitely don't look like boxers, they're far too long to look like that. Love the white paired with the brighter tops.

I am with Sveta - if pockets bother me on otherwise great fitting white pants, I cut them out and sew them shut. The combo with the black top is especially sharp.

The pockets can't be sewn shut and cut off, unfortunately. The way that they were constructed didn't make that an easy fix. I did look at that!

I will do some more try on's and see how I feel. I like everything else about them.

I do like them on you - that said, friend of mine has their white in a full length pant and I notice the see through effect on her every time she wears them ....which makes me think she doesn't see it herself...

I do see the pockets and yet I also think the camera flash plays a huge role in emphasizing that, and (ironically, given our gear as real-wear convo the other day) I actually like them a lot on you, esp. in outfit #1 which elevates them.

FWIW, I noticed the pocket linings right away, and in this specific case don't think they are problem. They look like you're wearing little shorts, and the effect is quite sporty.

Thanks for clarifying that Angie. Today a friend dropped by for tea, and I got her IRL opinion on them... she said that while the pocket did show, she didn`t think it a big deal either. Esp if I wear them with longer tops. I ended up keeping them on for a while, and man are they comfy! I`m leaning towards keep at the moment, for sure.

I think they look great, especially in the first outfit. I don't think the pockets are deal breaker.
