Arrived safely and soundly.

Been here a day. Chilly, and absolutely need to wrap up. Scarf essential - always a cold wind when you're walking outside. Most women, men and kids wear scarves here. It's cultural, and practical.

Go Team Tomato & Burgugdy. LOVING my gigantic wrapped scarf. Very cozy and stays put.

Last night my Dad and I tucked into one of my favourite Dutch desserts - griesmeel pudding met bessensap. And I'm having my favourite breakfast each day too. You can't beat the best Dutch bread, butter and cheese.

We have an industrialized version of this dessert, we call « Flamby » (and we called our former President « Flamby », after the dessert

Yesterday I was cleaning out files and found homework from 6th grade and thought of you and your dad. I had cut out a newspaper photo of a field of flowers in The Netherlands for an assignment and written about it. "Some day when I'm grown up, maybe I'll visit the Netherlands," I wrote. I'm glad you're there in my place -- clearly I must add this to my bucket list!

I really like this tomato/burg combo and will have to keep an eye out for such a coat this winter. I'm not a fan of burgundy by itself, but this is stunning.
