Thanks, everyone! This trip is doing me good. It’s putting a delay on some of our house projects (the other thing that’s been occupying a lot of my time and attention) but that’s ok. It’ll get done. Hubs is eternally patient and supportive, which helps!
I succumbed to more ring temptation — a fabulous large oval ring featuring a beautiful piece of polished petrified wood in a silver setting. It’s quite long on the finger, but I think I have the hands to pull it off. Its packed away right now but I’ll share a pic at some point.
I also had to get a piece of this tumbleweed jewelry from an artisan in Bisbee. Yes, tumbleweed! He gathers mass quantities of the tumbleweeds and compresses them into big blocks, incorporating some dye too, and then cutting them into shapes for sculpture and jewelry. Here is the pendant I bought, along with what the compressed tumbleweed looks like in block form, and of course some in its natural state, suspended from his shop ceiling. Do I need more jewelry? No, but it’s such a perfect vacation/travel purchase — doesn’t take up much room, fun to wear, it has a good story, and it’s a great memento, all while supporting local artisans.
Kyle, if I get up to Phoenix I’ll PM you! It’s possible!
