Quick boot review from NAS: Pics Added

I have been crazy busy this last week moving. So busy in fact that I had many packages arrive from NAS which sat unopened for days before I found the time to get to them. Crazy I know!!! I ordered 3 pairs of booties looking for the perfect pair(s) of neutral boots. I only had time to quick throw them on; no styling or pics but I thought I'd give my first impressions in case it helps anyone else.

VC 'Vive' Bootie in Caramel - http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/vi.....ts-_-1_3_B I threw these in my cart at the last minute on a whim because I usually don't do skinny heels but I LOVE them. They are so comfortable and I think they will satisfy my need for nude heels/pumps. I can't recommend them enough and I'm thinking they'll be a keep for sure.

Joan & David Renton Boot in taupe - http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/jo.....ts-_-1_2_A I'm on the fence about these. I had on nylons when I tried them on and my regular size was a little sloppy feeling. So I need to try them on with thicker tights or socks or order them in a smaller size. They seem really comfortable though. I was a little worried that the gold accents were going to be too "blingy" for me but they are more toned down IRL than in the pics. I'll probably post some K/R pics in the future.

VC Hillari Boot in bamboo (not on sale) http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/vi.....ts-_-1_3_A I have been eyeing these boots for awhile so decided to give them a shot. They are beautiful IRL and I love the bamboo color. The heel height does not seem to be a problem which was my worry. But... the top of the boot shaft is super, super stiff and digs into my shin if I do anything but stand up straight. I'm sure there's some way to soften the leather but I'm thinking they're probably a return for this reason. Has anyone had luck softening leather?

I'm also eyeing a few other boots. Does anyone have any experience with any of these?

#1 - VC Vive - as long as they pass the wear around the house test they are keepers for sure!

#2 - Joan & David - I'm struggling with these. They are comfortable with socks (would need to size down w/out) but they look stiff to me somehow. I'll try to style them and then see what I think.

#3 - VC Hillari - after seeing these pics I don't like them near as much as I liked them not on. Add that to the shaft discomfort and they will be returned.

Does anyone have any experience with them? I wanted a pair of lower vamp booties with a chunky heel to replace some old ones.

Aside from some accessories and a bra, this was my only NAS purchase.

I have to say, I really like Vince Camuto booties in general and esp. the ones you picked. What a lovely soft caramel.

It would be cool if you get around to pics of the Renton. I like the shape but am unsure about the suede aspect. I'm not sure how casual they read.

rachylou - I'll try to post pics by this weekend for sure. I think they could really go either way as far as dressy/casual. I'd say they are a little more refined that a lot of boots out there so that dresses them up a little and also the gold detailing. I think they'd work well with boot cut dress slacks for work which is probably why I will keep them if I do. I think some boots look to "clunky" for more basic work wear.

I ordered the Vive bootie in navy so I'm glad to hear that you like it. Did your regular size work for you?

Susie - I impulsively put them in my cart after you said you ordered them!! Yes my regular size worked. They are a little loose in the heel for me but I don't think that will be a problem since the bootie shape holds them on and I can always add some padding to the heel. I have not worn them around the house yet but I was immediately impressed by their comfort and that is not an easy feat for me. I added the navy to my wish list....

I had been looking for a navy shoe in the spring and tried several that didn't work so I was excited when I saw these. I love booties. I think they will work well for jeans
