Frances, I love your answer! I too would be trying to recapture that girl's look. She sounds like she would be stylish even today.
Taylor and Laura, you two are cheatin' with your real-life brushes with famous people. But they are charismatic, gorgeous, timelessly stylish people, so you're forgiven.
cciele, I haven't met Angie yet so she can't be my answer, but she's a fabulous choice!
For me, it was my childhood best friend, Mary. Mary lived down the street from me, and is to this day the most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life close-up. She had thick dark hair, not curly but the kind that you could style any way you wanted, stunning blue eyes, and a smile and bone structure that was just unbelievable, even at eight years old. I always felt invisible next to her because people could not help but stare at her where ever we were. I didn't mind because I just couldn't believe this gorgeous creature was my friend.
Mary was always so trendy and stylish too, and when we hit our pre-teen and teenage years she got even more so. She was usually about 6 months ahead of a trend; I remember her wearing piles of black rubber bracelets long before Madonna had her hit video with Borderline. Then she was at Catholic high school and managed to make those uniforms intriguing on her -- and again, this was years before Britney or anyone. She did punk/goth, and preppy, and everything, with this uncanny ability to still keep her stunning looks and yet be so cutting-edge.
I re-found her on Facebook recently, and she is still as beautiful now as she was then. And just as stylish and ahead of the curve. I wish she posted more!
