Question for runners- socks

Fab runners, can you recommend your summer weight socks. I find most running socks too cushioned (which makes my shoes fit funny) or too tight on my wide, high volume foot.

Sorry, elphgal. I go for thick year round and wear Thorlo below the ankle socks. I have one pair of shoes that I wear sans socks, but those are my tri racing shoes.

I wear a brand called Feetures. They are thickish, though.

I'm with Runcarla--love my Thorlo low-cut socks. I have a pair of Nike thin socks that I loved in the past, too, but they are quite old.

I don't have a brand but I got several pairs of moisture wicking ankle socks from The Sports Authority when I was training for a half marathon. They were PERFECT because they didn't cause blisters like cotton socks. The material kept my feet dry. They also provided light cushioning and light arch support because of the elasticity. My only complaint was when they got worn they wouldn't stay on. I suppose the elasticity was compromised with the constant washing and drying.

I have good luck with Under Armour socks. I pick them up when I see them at TJMaxx. They sell them in 3 packs usually. I don't like thick socks so you might give them a try. (Couldn't find a link.)

I like Feetures. They come in several different thicknesses. For summer/least cushioning, I like their ultra light socks.

Thank you fabbers, I will investigate and report back. Turns out I need to wear motion control shoes for a while to help with knee pain and I am trying to find the best solution for our humid summers. Good thing sneakers are trending again.

I recently bought the Darn Tough no show socks and they are fabulous in my runners. I hate shoes and socks in the summer but these are very comfortable. They are not running socks so there is no extra cushioning to take up space and the wool is light and keeps your feet dry.

I buy Puma 3 to a pack at DSW or TJMaxx...These are thick enough to add cushioning and yet are comfortable in the warmer weather...

I love my Balega socks -- I'm still using the first pair of them I bought three years ago! Not too thick, but just a little cushiony. They wear really, really well!

My best are honestly Danskin Now with arch support bands built in. I tend to find random 3 packs on sale every year or so, so I have New Balance, No Nonsense, DAnskin, whatever. I don't have blister issues. I think if the shoe fits right in the first place, that's the best defense.

I third RunCarla re Thorlos. I sized up in length and width (extra wide, anyone?) in order to wear them. Brooks Addictions are great for motion control/over pronation.

I don't run but wear Wigwam "Ironman Triathalon" socks from the running store for walking and to the gym. They are pricey but last for ages. Feetures are good too and that's what I wear for tennis. The "triathlon" socks are thin and keep my feet cool and blister free.

for long runs Ill put the ininji's under the defeet for extra blister protection

The running store recommended Brooks Ariel - huge clunky shoe.
The thing with these socks is that you can't really try them on without breaking the seal (for hygiene purposes, no doubt), but it makes it frustrating to try them.

Sarah, I tried the toe socks a few years ago but a couple of my toes are really short and the extra fabric at the finger tips folds under my foot and bothers me. I haven't tried this particular brand though. I think Smartsox (sp?) was the one I tried previously.
