The short answer is yes, but I'm not sure when we'll get to it.
The long answer...
We do want to improve the YLF experience on tablets, but in the short term that is going to come from improvements to website rather than an app for tablets.
In terms of tablets and phones, these are our two main priorities:
- Make the website work better on tablets and phones.
- Make the app on the phone (iPhone and Android) more general purpose. For one thing, support the whole forum and not just realtime threads.
The main functional difference between the website and the app, is that you can't use the website to upload photos on Android or iOS (iPhone/iPad). This makes the app very important for use "on the go", and in this situation the phone is our focus because it is the thing that you're more likely to carry.
I also have to point out that making the app for Android is much harder than making it for iPhone. There are so many different devices all running slightly different versions of Android and with different screen sizes etc.
As always, I'm interested to hear what YLF'ers think about the priorities for website versus app, and tablet versus phone.
