I'm not the most experienced with NAS, but I can tell you that I've ordered all kinds of stuff online during the NAS sale - usually as soon as I see Angie's recommended pieces/special picks. Keep a very close eye on Angie's blog posts during the NAS - she will suss out the best of the best.
Not sure if you knew this (it was news to me too), but you can return Nordstrom dot com orders to your local Nordstrom Rack store if you wanted to. Granted shipping and returns are *free* with Nordstrom dot com, but I'm not the most organized person in the world - so trying to package up a return parcel is still too much of a pain - so being able to return Nordstrom dot com purchases to my nearby Norstrom Rack store has been very helpful. Makes me feel like it's "ok" to order all kinds of stuff from Nordstrom. I do keep most of what I order, but there is just something about their easy returns that makes me feel confident in ordering even more than I might have otherwise.
I don't have the Nordstrom card (though they keep asking me to get one), and I don't go to those "pre-select" sessions at the store in advance of the NAS - and you know what? It's still a *GREAT* sale. Just love it. It's like Christmas in July or something. I blame Angie for this mostly - because she finds the best pieces within the sale. I'm already very excited about it all... seems silly, but I can't help it
And yes, the NAS is all about the brand-new fall/winter merchandise - on sale at the very beginning of the season - this is a LOT more fun than "end of season sales" imo.
