Question about the bra strapper

Slipping bra straps are the bane of my existence. It happens with every bra I have ever owned and every brand I have ever tried. My shoulders are extremely dainty, especially when compared to the size of my bust, so it seems inevitable.

I just wonder if the bra strapper is the solution. I don't wear a lot of tops that are cut close to my neck. Are the straps going to peek out?

The link doesn't bring it right to an item, so I didn't bother looking. But I would recommend you get a bra fitting, and possibly wear thicker straps. Thats worked for me!

I had a fitting already and my bras fit well. I just have a problem with the straps. It happens with all bras and all brands, and I don't get a lot of variety anyway since I have a hard to find size. Anyway the link should work now.

I have the exact same problem. I have tried different things including the bra strapper you posted but nothing worked.

The problem with the strapper is that it is very hard to put on. If I put it on before wearing the bra, it would slip off; if I try to put on after wearing the bra, I couldn't see it or reach it. Even when it's on perfectly, it feels itchy and uncomfortable all day long.

Also the racerback bras don't work because most of my tops are not close enough to my neck. I'd be very interested to see what solutions come out of this thread.

It has the same purpose as the strapper, but should be way more comfy since it's basically a stretchy band, and easier to put on as well.

Hm, there seem to be a lot of products aimed at solving this particular problem but I dont know which, if any, work.

I have a racerback bra but my problem with racerbacks is that they almost always clasp in the front, which means they are not adjustable and wear out quickly.

Ooh Tanya, that's a good one. It looks like it can adjust to be narrower or wider, which means it won't cause the straps to sit up against my neck. I think I'll try that instead.

I have this problem, and I purchased the item Tanya posted. It didn't work for me, mostly because I have no idea how to put it on the bra. It's like Julia said about the bra strapper--it's really difficult to put on before putting on the bra, and it's pretty much impossible to do so afterward.

Maya, if your really wanted to try it, I would even be willing to mail you one. It was just useless for me.

When I was wearing the wrong sized bras and back in the days when I wore full slips I had this problem. What worked best were those little loops of ribbon sewn to the garment that go around each bra strap at the shoulder and snap to hold the strap at the shoulder. They are found in better quality dresses. I think you can still buy them in fabric stores to sew (or pin, if you want to move them from garment to garment) into your clothing. There might be something similar now with velcro.

It’s uncomfortable to wear every day but Tanya’s solution is a great one.

I too have very dainty shoulders but my bra straps do not fall down. I wonder if it has to do with the slope of your shoulder?

This sometimes happens to me. Usually on my older bras. Regardless of the cause, it is the most irritating, annoying thing.

When I was younger my mom would tie my bra straps back (like the bra strapper) with string so i could wear tops with cut in shoulders. Mom also sewed many 'lingerie straps' in, which was a loop of string/ribbon affixed with snaps to keep the straps from falling. We got the idea from seeing manufacturers put them in sleeveless tops.

I have a product similar to the lingerie solutions one mentioned above. I purchased it from this company: http://www.brazabra.com/catego.....selected=1. I too found that particular product tedious to put on, husband had to do it. And when I leaned back in a chair, it was uncomfortable on my back.

I guess there is no easy solution. I hate getting little doodads to try and make clothes more wearable only to find they don't work. I can probably get the same effect with a piece of string...if I could just figure out how to tie it back there.

My shoulders probably do slope a lot because I also have this problem with shoulder bags. They never stay on my shoulder. I have to carry them around in my hand, like a briefcase, or in the crook of my elbow. Even the shoulders on my sleeveless tops sometimes slide off, and they are very thick. I don't think I'm competent enough to do the lingerie strap thing...
