Question about Smartwool sock recommendations

Are Smartwool socks available in lighter, thinner weights? I have some really thick Smartwool socks that stand in for slippers around the house, and I like their hiking socks (for hiking), but I haven't seen their socks in a lightweight version that isn't gearish or sporty, IYKWIM. I was looking at some of their offerings online, but of course you can't see/feel thickness that way. Any recommendations of specific styles of theirs?

Yes, they are I just ordered some 1 week ago. They are still wool but they can be worn when its warmer. Think of wool like silk -- breathes and keeps your feet from being sweaty.

Yes, they have ankle length cable knit patterned in black or grey. Can't link exact style because I'm on iPhone. I know REI sells them.

Yes. I wear them every day. All of Nordstrom's Smartwool offerings are relatively thin.

Look for Smartwool ultralight and light cushioning styles for a thinner sock. I also like the ultralight "City" style in the Icebreaker line for lighter, everyday wool socks.

Yes, I have a really cute pair in orange and pink that a friend gave me - almost like truoser sock weight.

My smart wool socks are thin enough to stand in for trouser socks. I often find them at the Rack or Marshall's.

They do have lighter weights, and I've owned several of the lighter and heavier weight ones (for work wear, for hiking, etc). However, I've gotten disenchanted with the Smartwool brand for socks as a whole: they wear through in a season. Since Smartwools were my first wool socks, I thought this was par for the course, but I've since moved onto other brands which have lasted me 3 (!!) seasons and are still going strong.

Charmian, I agree. I'm finding my lighter Icebreaker socks wear much longer than my lighter Smartwools. I don't notice as much difference on the heavier weights.

Oops, sorry, I never answered your original question, did I?

My favs have been from Teko, but I just looked at their website and it looks like the ones I like are no longer being made (darn you, long-wearing socks!). They were 100% merino wool, unlike the wool blends they appear to be selling now.

I have a single pair from Darn Tough Vermont's "Life Style" series that's only a few months old (which means it's already outlasted the Smartwools) -- but the jury is still out on whether they'll top the Tekos.

I'm curious to try Gaylene's recommendation for Icebreaker when these Tekos finally wear out; I've also heard good things about them.
