Question about photos we post

I seem to remember that when YLF launched the new site a couple of months ago, there was some talk that the photos we post on the site would be saved and accessible...somewhere? Like through our profiles or something? Is that right? If so, where do we access them? I just looked at my profile and don't see any of the photos I have uploaded, so I wasn't sure. I don't really need them for anything--I was just playing around on the site and was curious. It's also possible I completely misunderstood. Thanks!

Good question Steph. I have also been wondering about this. I used to dig back into my Photobucket album for reference if I needed to post an old picture, but now I'm probably just going to have to re-export them from iPhoto each time.

I don't think they are saved anywhere.. just in your post. I have kept my photobucket account and save all my photos there for my own reference.

Queen Mum is right that the only place to see your photos right now is in your post. The actual files are stored on our server though, and we do plan to add the feature that will allow you to see your photos in your profile pages too.

The feature we added soon after launching was the ability to hide a photo. Initially I thought that would be done from somewhere in the profile pages, but we ultimately decided that the most convenient thing was to make it accessible directly from the post itself.

Please feel free to pile on to this thread and mention any additional photo features that you think would be useful, and what you'd like to see in the profile pages in particular.

Thank you, Greg, for that option to hide a photo. Just wanted to say that you are doing an awesome job!!

I'm sure that when you decide on a way for us to access all our photos in one spot, it will be fabulous. : )

It would be brilliant to be able to go to someone's profile and reference their photos. I have seen several posts/comments where someone has been thinking of an outfit someone posted and it has been difficult to find the photo of the outfit.

I don't know if that's possible, but I think it would be great if you could tag the pictures. I would suggest a controlled vocabulary with different term classes (e.g. for item, color, body type, style preference and so on). Then you could search systematicly for style inspiration. I would see this as an additional feature to the picture access via the profiles. I must say I have some idea of the theory behind it, but absolutely no idea how to implement something big like this. So, just an idea!
