Question about Massimo Dutti sizing

I would like to order some tops frpo Massimo Dutti but have no idea about their sizing.
Anybody can help me out in comparison with other brands? For example for tops I am between M and L in Zara depending on the shoulder and sleeve fit. I am also mostly M in JCrew, BR and Gap.
Doies anybody know how MD sizing compares with Zara or JCrew?

Zara is the parent company so I would imagine they are similar. But Massimo Dutti seems geared to the more mature woman, so perhaps a bit bigger? Not sure....and no help! Sorry....

I think that MD runs a little smaller in general, but I know the top you want to order, and it has a roomy fit. I have a feeling the Medium will be right. Could you order both? In Belgium returns to a store are free, perhaps that's also the case in Canada?

No personal experience, but according to the size chart it runs slightly bigger than Zara (#1 vs #2) - so M should be about right?

Inge, unfortunately there is no MD store in my city so store returns are not an option for me.
Daria, I found it is hard to read their size chart - what is the relation of measurements in the second table to the sizes above?
Sounds like I should risk M then...

Hmm Sveta - I'd say very similar to ZARA

....
However, I bought a few things from MD last year - and took a size M in the sweaters - mostly for the shoulder line.
Last week I tried a few items on in their store and was happy with the S. I don't believe I've changed body size/shape ...

Sveta - sizes above are UK sizes, so 10 UK would correspond to M in the lower table.

Sveta - I am a huge M.D. fan - and all of my Massimo Duti items (and I have a lot of them!) have run small. I have always had to order at least one size larger than what I ordinarily wear!

ETA: For me, M.D. runs smaller than Zara.

Sveta....Canadian returns are free through the mail. Drop off at Canada Post.

I placed my first M. D. order this morning so we shall see. No store in my city to look at and try things so just winging it. I ordered one size up from what I generally wear. Returns are free so no loss if it doesn't work out.

What Marley and UmmLila said. There is a MD in the PATH, so I check out their stuff from time to time. I find they cut narrow, and the impression I get is that they design for fine boned folk.

As an aside, they scent their stores...like A&F, but not as strong. Weird.

Thank you all for your help!
I decided to go with L after all (Marley scared me I guess). As returns are free it is not a big risk, right?
This is the linen tunic I ordered - in ivory. And of course while I was at it I have ordered some other shirts too - hey, I had to get my order over $70 for a free shipping right?
#2 was available only in this color (which I love) and only in size L - I took it as a sign
#3 was also the only color available in L and I happen to like this shade of turquoise (closer to teal than to sour bright turquoise I don't suit well).
And #4 - I realized I have one single Gap tee in stripes and I don't like the quality because it stretches too much. A girl has to have some stripes handy, right?
I was also eyeing the sweater in #5. Love the style, live the fabrication (wool / silk), the price is good - but the color stops me. Did anybody see it in real life? How much of soul sucking beige is this color? Or maybe I should get it and see for myself as I cannot get over the style...sigh...

I don't think this brand is going to be particularly petite friendly for myself but I think the odd thing might work.

Can't wait to see how they work out. I have looked and looked there and never ordered for some reason. Until I get things worked out with Zara I will be boycotting them and their sister stores, alas...

What? There is MD in Toronto? How did I not know this ? And free returns ? Ok, excuse me while I dust off my credit card and get to work. Btw - we NEED to do a YLF Toronto meetup this year .

Please report back! I love their styles but fear I am sized out. I have always thought this brand ran small so I will be interested to hear your feedback.
