Hi Ladies, I have questions about fragrances today!

How often do you change fragrance?

What scent are you currently wearing?

Does your fragrance wear off or last all day?

Do you apply it on your skin, clothing or both?

I'm in love with Ange ou Demon Le Secret by Givenchy, its on my wish list right now!

I've been wearing the same perfume for some years now. I always wear the same - don't have different ones for different occasions. I don't want to say what I wear, as I fear it will really date me, but it was the schnitz at one time!

I am dying to change, but find looking for perfume truly overwhelming. I can't stand to walk into a Bath & Body Works or the perfume section of a department store.

I've read a lot of stuff about how to choose a fragrance and still find it anxiety-producing to think about. That's why I keep wearing (and buying) the tired old has-been perfume.

I wear it on my skin - not usually my clothing. I often dab a bit onto my scalp on the back of my head. I like the idea that if a special someone hugs me or puts their face in my hair, they'll get a little breath of my perfume.

It lasts all day on my head or the back of my neck, but only if you're really close. In other words, my hair dresser will comment that I smell good, but she doesn't notice it until she's really in my hair.

I have a variety of fragrances yet do not wear anything on a daily basis. I think part of it is that my boss is sensitive and she sits kinda close to me. (This is totally my decision - she would never say anything to me about it. I just love her do don't want to bother her.)

I have wanted to find a signature scent for a long time, or at least a day and night scent. I find it really difficult to decide, though! So, I'm not much help. lol

I change my fragrance depending on my mood.
Right now I'm toggling between my husband's Varvatos by John Varvatos (it's sweet!) and a new favorite Hanae Mori. Fruity but not too sweet or too musky. It's my favorite right now.

Currently I have CK one and a rose one by YSL. I don't notice the smell after a few minutes but others do. I think we quickly get used to scent, smelling my wrists now I can still smell what i put on this morning (8 hrs ago) x

I'm really scent-sensitive, so I really don't wear perfume. It usually gives me a headache. For really special occasions, I'll wear a little spritz of BnBW Brown Sugar and Fig Body Splash. I'm usually okay with mild fruity scents and sometimes spicy ones (cinnamon, vanilla, etc.) but I can't handle floral or musk at all. (which is sad, because my mom found a few bottles of Muget at Big Lots a few years ago - they don't make it anymore and I used to love it - and I can't use it at all.

I flip flop with Chanel #5, Coco, and Coco Mademoiselle.
I have recently added David Yurman to the mix...WONDERFUL!!!
And my old stand by Obsession.

I have short hair and people are often standing beside or behind me, so I spray the back of my neck into my hairline, every time someone hugs me,or gets behind me they comment on my fragrance...in a good way:)

Ive stuck to the hand lotion version of the scents I use- more subtle, and great *lasting power* and the price per use is great! Especially great if you use your hands a lot! I put a little on my arms and neck too....but very little! Normally only apply it twice daily....I usually use ET's White Diamonds, but also love SJP's 'Lovely' scent...

For everyday i wear Prada Milano. On the weekends or a night out i'll wear Gucci for Women

Of course RL Romance.

I always get my frangrances in EDP strenght (it's a lot more concentrated) and it's last all day.

I always spray on the usual spots.....

My son is super allergic to perfumes, so the Calvin Klein Euphoria that my husband bought me is saved for special nights only. Every day, I wear a blend of oils called Persian Garden, or in the winter Amber Paste.

Have been wearing Kenzo Flower for close on 13 years and am not changing it.

I spray on every morning and that's it. It stays on the whole day. It's a signature part of my style. And Greg LOVES it.

Oh, I spray at the back of my hair and on my clothes. No skin.

Bulgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert Extreme! It's like CK One turned up to 11. A little spritz behind each ear and once on the inside of my wrist--then rub 'em together. (Apparently this distresses the scent molecules and you shouldn't do it but it's basically a muscle memory at this point and I can't NOT do it.) I've also been wearing L'Artisan The Pour Un Ete (I am obsessed with tea fragrances). Both are perfect for summer. They both seem like they wear off but when I get in the shower the next day, there's often a little jolt of fragrance again when the water hits my skin and reactivates it, so who knows.

I've shied away from wearing scents because I can't really smell them on myself after spraying them on, and I don't want to spray on ever-increasing quantities until I become that woman on the elevator who overpowers everyone with her heavy perfume. I know that just because I can't smell it doesn't mean everyone else can't. And people tend to be sensitive about it out here. For a while a few years ago, it was common to see little footnotes in meeting notices asking people to be sensitive to those with allergies and not wear perfume to meetings or workshops. I know some people think this is over the top, but since I get overpowered to the point of nausea when I smell certain air fresheners or worse yet, cigarettes, I understand it. But I do miss my muguet. And I do cheat a little by using lemon verbena body lotion after my shower, because the scent makes me happy and makes me feel fresh and clean.

I have been wearing Lola by Marc Jacobs since September last year and am absolutely in love. I think it is the best fragrance "fit" I have ever had. I am constantly getting compliments on it, even from complete strangers.

I do not wear fragrance at work ( it is considered unprofessional) but I do in pretty much every other setting. I usually spray a little directly on the skin on the usual points, although I love to spray a bit on the hair too. Very rarely, maybe 5% of the time, I will wear Angel too, but somehow feels more winter appropriate at the moment.

I do change fragrances, and t is usually connected to various big changes in my life. So some last for years, and some I may decide to change after a few months. I always have a favorite at the moment, and one or two back ups to spice things up a bit.

I used to wear Miracle by Lancome for years, still do occasionally but it was kind of associated with a former relationship so don't wear it much these days...

I love Romance by Ralph Lauren, Anais Anais by Cacharel, Paris by Yves Saint Laurent...

Currently I'm wearing Covet by Sarah Jessica Parker although honestly it's a bit too vanilla for me.

I also have White Musk from the Body Shop which is quite a mature fragrance.

But overall, my favourite thing is to use a body cream, roll-on deodorant and sometimes a body spray like Impulse. Usually slather on Dove Fresh Touch body lotion (cucumber and green tea fragrance) straight out of the shower before getting dressed, roll on Mum Dry deodorant, and give a quick spritz of Impulse body spray on my clothes as an afterthought. I find the body lotion lasts all day and gives a really subtle scent. I often get comments when I give someone a hug.

Also, can't beat the smell of freshly washed hair and clean clothes!

Both my daughters (and me to a lesser extent) suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity so every single thing we use in our house is unscented (soap, washing detergent, dishwashing liquid, cleaning products, shampoo, skin products... the list goes on...).

For special occasions on the weekends the girls are with their Dad I will use a scented body spray sparingly.

I can say that after several years of being scent-free, I really appreciate it when people know the difference between a hint of fragrance and swimming in it - the latter make me want to go and vomit. I also appreciate subtle things like fresh flowers so much more.

I must admit I would love to have a signature scent, but as long as we remain remotely sensitive my signature scent will be "clean" LOL

I wear only one scent at a time and tend to stick with the same one for a number of years, before changing it up. I used to wear Ellen Tracy, and a couple of years ago I switched to Elizabeth Arden's Red Door.

Lately I have been also liking the magazine samples of D&G's Light Blue, but not sure I like it on me.

Angie, do you not apply the scent to your skin so the scent won't change, or because your skin is sensitive?

Tanya, I really appreciated your comment about changing scent when something changes in your life. I'm in a period of transition and a fresh new scent is just calling my name. I never would have put that together but it makes perfect sense.

Also, it's an easy and uplifting treat to give yourself, no real money or gym time involved!

Frances, I know what you mean about people who keep increasing the amount of scent they wear because they've gotten so used to it. My way of getting around this is to work out the perfect amount in the first few times I wear it, and stick to that exact quantity always.

For me, this is a teeny dab of Chanel Allure eu de perfum on each wrist, and a dab behind the knees if I'm out with just my husband. It's funny, that scent is advertised as being soft and sophisticated, and I'm anything but. But I love it and it sits so well on my skin.

I have three fragrances right now, Ralph Lauren's Romance, which I've worn for years and years and is still probably my favorite, Eternity Moment, and my newest, Lola by Marc Jacobs.

Today I'm wearing Romance. I can usually smell it several hours later. But Lola, I can't. It seems to fade quickly one me. I love the initial scent though.

I usually put a little in the crook of my elbow, and maybe a little on my neck, but I tried not to overdo it. I worked with a woman years ago that you could smell several minutes after she'd walked by, and you could always find her when you needed her by following her scent! I've also been outside walking and been able to smell the perfume of people driving by in cars with the windows rolled up, or been in a room with someone and have been able to taste the perfume in the air as they pass. That's just too much!

I'm pretty chicken when it comes to scents because if I can't pronounce it, I don't want to own it, partially because I don't want to feel silly asking for it at a fragrance counter, and partially because I'd be scared someone might ask me what I'm wearing and I wouldn't be able to tell them without feeling silly!

(Years ago, my husband wore Joop and it was a long time before we realized how it was prounounced and we were embarrased!)

Honestly, I usually don't notice anyone else's scent unless it's unpleasant or overdone.

Hmmm - so is it not pronounced as it is written? I wouldn't have a clue either. It's funny you say that because I don't wear M.A.C. makeup for exactly that reason. LOL! I don't know whether it's pronounced "Mac" or if you spell out the letters (Em Ay See). gigglegigglegiggle.

Tara I agree scented body lotion lasts surprisingly long. I put some on the other day and one of the kids came for a cuddle and said my arm smelled nice and this was 6 hours after I'd put it on x

I used to change out fragrances every few years, kind of when I was changing stages in my life. After having my son five years ago I developed a sensitivity to a lot of chemicals and can't wear perfume very often.

But I do have a bottle of Chanel #5 that I occasionally wear. I spray it into the air right in front of me then walk through the mist. I think it stays on pretty much all day.

I love it when people have a signature fragrance; I can smell the scent years later and I immediately think of that person. White Shoulders instantly makes me think of my mother, Vanilla Fields makes me think of my cousin and Angel makes me think of my sister in law.

My favorite scent to wear is Laura Ashley No. 1.

I have one opened bottle left and sadly this fragrance is no longer made (result of a lawsuit between the Laura Ashley company, and L'Oreal, the manufacturer).

I recently searched to see if I could locate any more and the bottle size I have now recently sold on Ebay for over $300 and that was for the Eau de Parfume. So down the road I will have to look for a new favorite scent.

A lot of scents give me a headache when I wear them for a few hours or I don't like the way the scent changes after time on my body.

I change my scents with the seasons, rotating between Fracas, Coco Mademoiselle and Issey Miyake Le Feu Light (sadly discontinued). Usually I only apply in the morning. I have scented lotion versions of all three, and they last quite well.

Jenny, I was told by someone that Joop! is pronounced "Yope", rhymes wiht "nope". But since we're still not sure, my husband doesn't wear it anymore.

While I'd love to wear something French, I think I'd have to take French 101 before walking up to a counter and requesting it!

This one is easy for me: I wear one fragrance at a time.

For 20+ years it was Chanel No. 5. I had no intention of EVER leaving it, but we hosted a young French girl who smelled SO good that my daughter and literally inhaled as she walked by us It was Thierry Mugler's Angel. I quickly divorced Chanel No. 5 and wedded myself to Angel.

It has been 5 years and we are still VERY happy together. I put it on once in the morning and usually don't notice it myself after a bit, but whenever I greet someone (we hug lots here!), they always say I smell good It has caramel, vanilla, and chocolate in it - what's not to like?

Angie - I have been wearing Kenzo Flower for 6 years now and I love it too (and so does my husband!) It is the pefume that I chose for our wedding day.

I also have Estee Lauder Pleasures and J'adore by Dior, but I always come back to Kenzo.

I used to love Anais Anais by Cacherel, but somehow I think I may have outgrown it? Now I wear Chanel Gardenia, which was a limited addition and I am afraid I won't be able to buy it again. Once in awhile I wear Burberry Baby Touch, which is possibly not meant for adults? But who would spray perfume on a baby? I never did figure it out but it smells good.
I usually spray my chest before getting dressed because it kind of muffles the smell. I am very sensitive to smell and too much of any perfume makes me nauseous (but a little bit is nice). It never really occurred to me this might be a weird thing to do until I typed it out. Hmm.
