Hi all! I've been consciously spending less time online lately to free up some mental capacity for other things going on right now ... but reading the blog daily and keeping up with posts as much as I can!

With the end of March starting to come into sight, I thought it was a good time to pop in and reflect on the first quarter of the year and my style and shopping, in preparation for spring (such as it is in Canada *sigh*)

So far this year I've staying focused on essentials, and updating a few things to more current-in-my-opinion versions. I try to keep my purchases to about 3 per month on average (I'd like to do less tbh ... but not matter what I do, when I average it out over the year, it always seems to be 3 per month!). This does not include basics but does include everything else (I'm not super-uptight about it though, so I'm sure I miss the odd thing here and there - but this year I've been pretty deliberate).

Anyhoo! So far this year I've purchased:

- black heeled higher-shaft sock booties (March) - essential
- black blouse (March) - completer (for when I need to be a touch dressier)
- black belt (March) - essential
- charcoal chunky turtleneck (January) - completer (for seasonal weather)
- beige cotton crewneck (January) - essential
- black and white quarter-zip sweater (February) - essential
- lighter-wash wide leg jeans (January) - essential
- black lug sole booties (February) - essential
- bright blue sweatershirt for lounging (February) - basic

Yes, a lot of black. Yes, a lot of basic style. But I'm happy as a clam with all these purchases! They are getting plenty of wear relative to when I purchased them and I suspect all will see the (admittedly arbitrary but may as well have a benchmark) 30 wears mark (the turtleneck and lug soles probably already have!)

Here are a few WIWs from the last little while that I've felt good in ... terrible quality as they weren't taken to be shared (not that my usual photos are much better haha!). Neutral and essential FTW! Colorwise for spring, I'm feeling all the beautiful blues, and this is a colour I really do get wear out of so that's on my radar for April and May.

Thanks for reading! xx
