Q for frequent BR shoppers - YouLookFab Forum

I have been absent on the forum lately due to some life stuff going on so I apologize for taking and not giving at the moment.

I just have one quick question I would like to request your input on.

I am in the US on business this week and was searching for a vest to supplement the one I have in my wardrobe that is getting tons of wear.

I found the perfect one at BR and bought it in XL. Here it is:

Bringing it back to the hotel and trying it on (almost obsessively) I have realized it doesn't fit quite right in the front shoulder / arm hole area. I am pretty confident sizing down would remedy the fit issue. Problem is L is out of stock online and nowhere to be found in stores in a 25+ mile radius.

Anyway - the questions for frequent BR shoppers are:
1. How long have you seen this item in BR? My thought is, if it is new they might restock. If it's been around a while my chances are lower. I'm a bit worried bc it says it is a "BR Pick" which could increase demand.
2. How is BR with receiving more merchandise in the store and online? IE, if it is out of stock for a few days usually more comes in, so I should be patient, or is all hope lost once it is out of stock (online and/or in-store)? The L has shown out of stock all week both in store and online.
3. Should I consider buying the L Petite? I don't mind a bit of a shrunken look in the vest and the current reg XL is a bit longer on me than I'd like. I rarely buy petites - input on how fit could differ on a vest other than length?

How much longer will you be in the US? If you go to a store that does not have the size you want in stock, they can have it shipped to you from another store. You do have to pay like $7 or something shipping fee, but all in store discounts apply. I don't know how long the shipping takes. You do have to do this in a store, the store and online stocks are separate.

Things do tend to pop back in and out of stock as people return a lot of online orders to the stores, so you may get lucky.

PS - you might be able to get overnight or 2 day shipping for an additional charge. Wouldn't hurt to ask at the store.

I am only here today, but I have a couple of friends that live here so I could (A) ship to store and let them pick up if BR would allow that, or (B) ship to their address or (C) wait until I am back in town in another month - ordering online in the meantime if it comes back into stock.

But I really like the idea of paying the fee to ship from another store..that way I am guaranteed the item

I think I will stop by there today to figure it all out.

Oooh, not looking good.

Just searched stores in 3 metro areas that I know zip codes and stores: Austin TX, St Louis MO and Atlanta GA and there was NONE in a 100 mile radius of any of those 3 zip codes.

Sold out online, too.

I guess the store can see if they can find it anywhere in the country, right, not just random searches within a 100 mile radius of a zip code?

Part of me is debating keeping it but I know that shoulder thing will drive me nuts. Other option is still the Petite L...or patience and crossing fingers it comes back into stock (I'm not known for patience)

Thoughts?

I put in 91362 and got three stores in the LA area that claim to have it. I think the SAs can probably search the whole country and find one that is closer though.

Just had another thought. You might be able to call the store that has it and have them ship it directly to save you a trip to the store.

That would be even better, bc I have the issue of me not physically being here for another month and the hassle of trying to explain to BR that I am doing the order but my friend would be picking it up.

If I can call the store and they ship it to me (or my friend's house) it would be the best case scenario.

I think i will call them. I didn't know an LA zip code so I used 90210, haha, and it worked, I see the ones you were talking about.

OH! What a fab vest! I cruise BR regularly, and totally missed that. The L is sold out in Canada too, btw. Good luck, I hope you can get something figured out.

Update: went back to store to do return, sales clerk said their system shows they *might* have the L and guess what - THEY DID! Squeal! So happy!
