Pussy bow tops/dresses: investment or trend?

I love the look of the tie in front; but I'm worried about pooling my limited style dollar on something that will look dated very quickly. I am noticing "tie front" shirts at the fast fashion stores for the last year now; and I'm worried that it's on its way out.

Will it still be classic to wear? Or at least look vintage-chic? Or am I going to be frumpy-dumpy?

#2 is an investment. #1 will date.

ETA: There's something very stylized retro about the first, this is why I say what I say. Generally, the pussy bow is classic IMO.

I think adding 1-2 pussy-bow pieces to your wardrobe is reasonable and you will still get good wear out of them. I think you should still be able to style a pussy-bow in say, 5 years but you wouldn't want to wear that particular look multiple times in the same week.

I own three pussy-bow tops. That's my personal limit and I won't add any more, no matter how cute they are.

I love bow-tie tops (and dresses) — always have, always will. That said, I agree with rachylou about the b&w one being more timeless — unless you have a vintage/retro style anyway.

Very interesting. I was thinking the exact opposite of Rachylou and Eden. I thought the polka dot which is trendy now, with the shear over solid was less timeless that the first dress in a solid. I also prefer the way the bow is structured in the first one as it gives a slight V and doesn't create that little keyhole at the neck. I had a sweater like that and never felt I had it quite right.

The bow blouse and dress have been around forever and even though they at a peak in popularity, they are still a classic.

I LOVE my PB blouses and never stopped wearing them since I found them about 10 years ago. But that's just me. I am a retro bombshell fashion persona all the way. They will always have a special place in my heart, whether they are trendy or not.

As a modern classic myself, I love both of these dresses. On trend accessories will always bring them up-to-date. I see #1 (depending on the weight of the fabric) as being year round but #2 looks more summery.

I suggest you watch the length to mitigate any concerns about frumpiness.

Spanner here. For me the pussy bow have swing in for their third time and I'm so over them. Adored them the first two times. I have two sweaters which are simply divine except for the pussy bow and they get absolutely no wear of late.

Thos eare SO YOU, Lynn, and with your tiny body, I think you can pull them off. Do not worry about trends, I would never wear that, trendy or not, because it doesn't suit me nor my body. It does, however, suit you and yours.

Thanks; I believe they will be midi-length on me; so I'll maybe play around with that for a little bit before deciding if I should hem them up
